The Regular Season in A1 is slowly approaching the end. But there may be still some important changes in the final standings in the last 3 rounds. The round was rather attractive and full of interesting results. The round ended with derby games, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

Eighth-ranked Promitheas (9-14) made lots of trouble for fifth ranked PAOK (13-10) in Thessaloniki on Saturday. PAOK managed to secure only three-point victory 78-75. However their fans expected easier game. The hosts trailed by 13 points after three quarters before their 29-13 charge, which allowed them to win the game. 28 personal fouls committed by Promitheas helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American guard Thaddus McFadden (188-87, college: Fairmont St., agency: Higher Vision Sports) who scored 18 points. Linos-Spyridon Chrysikopoulos (206-92) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. American guard Lucky Jones (198-93, college: Robert Morris) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. PAOK moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Aris. Newly promoted Promitheas keeps the eighth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Lavrio and Trikalla. PAOK is looking forward to face league's leader Olympiacos in Athens in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Promitheas will play at home against Kymis (#12) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Athens: Panathinaikos (#2) and AEK Athens (#3). AEK Athens was crushed at home by 19 points 87-106 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. KC Rivers contributed with 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. The former international center Loukas Mavrokefalidis (207-84) answered with 19 points and 6 rebounds for AEK Athens.
