The games at this stage are more interesting as they can be crucial for the final standings in Regular Season. Despite we already know who is stronger and who is weaker, there may be still last minute surprises and upsets. The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with defeat of the leader and favorites losing the games.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Panionios (22-3) in Keratsiniou on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by fourth ranked Faros (18-6) 84-65. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Panionios. Faros made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. Strangely Panionios outrebounded Faros 39-24 including a 15-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by Panionios helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Nikos Liakopoulos (188-83) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 4 assists. Kostas Kakaroudis (204-83) contributed with 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Bosnian-British center Fahro Alihodzic (208-89, college: UAB) answered with 8 points and 8 rebounds for Panionios. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Faros maintains fourth place with 18-6 record. Newly promoted Panionios still keeps top position with three games lost. They share it with Iraklis. Faros are looking forward to face Psychiko (#7) in Athens in the next round. Panionios' supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Athens Amyntas Dafnis.
Thirteenth-ranked Kavala (7-17) used its home court advantage to challenge second ranked Iraklis (22-3). The visitors from Thessaloniki managed to secure only two-point victory 67-65. However their fans expected much easier game. Guard Yannis Gagaloudis (192-78) stepped up and scored 16 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners and Ronaldas Rutkauskas chipped in 25 points and 7 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). At the losing side naturalized Nigerian guard Etinosa Erevbenagie (186-95) responded with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Iraklis have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They used an opportunity after Panionios lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Kavala at the other side keeps the thirteenth place with 17 games lost. Iraklis will play against AE Larissas (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kavala will play against GS Larissas (#15) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Eighth-ranked Holargos (13-12) used its home court advantage to challenge third ranked Doukas (20-4) on Saturday. The visitors from Athens managed to secure only one-point victory 71-70. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Holargos. Giorgos Koukas nailed a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 assists for the winning side. Apostolos Koutroulias came up with 17 points and 5 rebounds for Holargos in the defeat. Doukas maintains third place with 20-4 record having just three points less than leader Panionios. Loser Holargos dropped to the sixth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Ethnikos and Psychiko. Doukas will meet at home Arkadikos (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Holargos will play against Ethnikos (#6) in Piraeus and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Ethnikos (13-12) and Amyntas Dafnis (12-13), which took place in Athens. Higher ranked Ethnikos lost to tenth ranked Amyntas Dafnis in a road game 77-92. Ioannis Angelopoulos fired 24 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Amyntas Dafnis' coach Alexis Zavos used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Amyntas Dafnis moved-up to ninth place, which they share with AE Larissas. Ethnikos at the other side keeps the sixth position with 12 games lost. Amyntas Dafnis' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Athens to the arena Panionios.
The game between twelfth ranked Doxa Pefkon (9-16) and 16th ranked Pagrati (2-23) in Pefkon on Saturday ended with biggest points difference. Doxa Pefkon outscored guests from Athens 98-48. It was a very good performance for Dimitrios Chatzikyriakidis who helped to win the game recording 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Coach Lefteris Hatzikiriakidis's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play all 12 players saving starting five for next games. Doxa Pefkon moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Arkadikos. Pagrati lost their twelfth game in a row. They stay dead last with 23 lost games. Doxa Pefkon will face Irakleio (#14) on the road in the next round. Pagrati will play against Aiolos Astakou and hope to win that game.

Other games in round 25 were not that significant. Psychiko was beaten by Aiolos Astakou on the road 80-74. Arkadikos won against GS Larissas on its own court 81-71. Irakleio unfortunately lost to AE Larissas in a road game 73-81.
The most impressive performance of 25th round was 21 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals by Giannis Prodromou of Arkadikos.

Aiolos Astakou - Psychiko 80-74

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Aiolos Astakou (15-10) beat at home 7th ranked Psychiko (13-12) 80-74 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Psychiko won fourth quarter 23-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Aiolos Astakou made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Psychiko was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for the former international point guard Fanis Koumpouras (185-83) who helped to win the game recording 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Giorgos Brozos (198-86, college: Furman) contributed with 11 points for the winners. Croatian guard Sven Smajlagic (195-90) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and forward Vasileios Mouratos (193-97) added 10 points and 5 assists in the effort for Psychiko. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Aiolos Astakou maintains fifth place with 15-10 record. Loser Psychiko dropped to the sixth position with 12 games lost. Aiolos Astakou will face bottom-ranked Pagrati (#16) in Athens in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Psychiko will play at home against Faros (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Panionios (22-3) in Keratsiniou on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by fourth ranked Faros (18-6) 84-65. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Panionios. Faros made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. Strangely Panionios outrebounded Faros 39-24 including a 15-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by Panionios helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Nikos Liakopoulos (188-83) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 4 assists. Kostas Kakaroudis (204-83) contributed with 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Five Faros players scored in double figures. Bosnian-British center Fahro Alihodzic (208-89, college: UAB) answered with 8 points and 8 rebounds and center Tasos Dimitriadis (204-82) added 9 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Panionios. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Faros maintains fourth place with 18-6 record. Very predictable result when ninth ranked AE Larissas (12-13) won against at home 14th ranked Irakleio (6-18) 81-73 on Saturday. Quite impressive performance for point guard Michalis Politis (190-88) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 5 rebounds. Swingman Giannis Papachristos (190-80) contributed with 7 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Forward Dimitris Lolas (203-86) answered with 14 points and 9 rebounds and forward Alexandros Petrakis (200-87) added 16 points in the effort for Irakleio. Four AE Larissas and five Irakleio players scored in double figures. Newly promoted AE Larissas maintains ninth place with 12-13 record, which they share with Amyntas Dafnis. Irakleio lost their third game in a row. Irakleio at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fourteenth position with 18 games lost. AE Larissas will face league's second-placed Iraklis in Thessaloniki in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Irakleio will play at home against Doxa Pefkon (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
