Greek A1 round 25 best performance: Kelsey Barlow - Apr 12, 2017

Kelsey
Barlow
American Guard Kelsey Barlow (196-G-91) had a very impressive game in the last round for Trikalla, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 25.
The 25-year old player was the main contributor (14 points, seven rebounds and five assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Doxa Lefkadas (#14, 4-21) 74-68. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Trikalla maintains the 10th position in Greek A1. Trikalla is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 10-15 record. Barlow turned to be Trikalla's top player in his first season with the team. Former University of Illinois-Chicago star has very solid stats this year. Barlow is in league's top in points (3rd best: 14.0ppg).

The second best player in last round's games was 30-year old Montenegrin Ivan Maras (207-PF-86) of Doxa Lefkadas. Maras had a very good evening with a double-double of 25 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Doxa Lefkadas lost that game 68-74 to the higher-ranked Trikalla (#10, 10-15). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Doxa Lefkadas is still at the dead bottom 14th position. 21 lost games are too many comparing to just four victories Doxa Lefkadas managed to get this year. Maras is one of the most experienced players at Doxa Lefkadas and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Will Cummings (188-G-92) of Aris (#5). Cummings showcased his all-around game by recording 25 points, nine rebounds and five assists in the last round. Despite Cummings' great performance Aris lost 70-75 to the lower-ranked Lavrio (#8, 11-14). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Aris needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 14 victories and 11 lost games. Cummings has a great season in Greece. After 24 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 14.3ppg (2nd best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Michael Dixon (186-G-90) of AEK Athens - 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists
5. Anthony Hickey (180-PG-92) of Apollon Patras - 23 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Demarius Bolds (193-G-84) of Lavrio - 22 points and 6 rebounds
7. Langston Hall (193-PG-91) of Kolossos HH - 18 points, 3 rebounds and 8 assists
8. Zanis Peiners (203-F/G-90) of PAOK - 14 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists
9. Ioannis Bourousis (214-C-83) of Panathinaikos - 19 points
10. Daniel Orton (208-F-90) of Kymis - 18 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
