We bring you last week's top performances from Greeks who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is an international guard Konstantinos Sloukas (197-90, currently plays in Euroleague). He contributed to a 3-point Fenerbahce's victory against the 11th-ranked FC Barcelona (12-18) 68-65 in the Euroleague in Thursday night's game. Sloukas scored 10 points, had 4 boards, dished 5 assists and stole 3 balls in 37 minutes on the court. Fenerbahce Istanbul (18-12) is placed fifth in the Euroleague. It was his team's first victory after three consecutive loses. There are only three games left until the end of the Euroleague Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Sloukas has relatively good stats this year: 10.2ppg, 1.9rpg, 4.5apg, 2FGP: 47.4%, 3FGP: 47.4%(27-57) and FT: 87.5% in 24 games he played so far. He is currently a member of the Greek senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international swingman Giannis Antetokounmpo (211-94, agency: Octagon Europe, currently plays in NBA). He could not help the Milwaukee Bucks (42-39) in their last game. Despite Antetokounmpo's very good performance the Milwaukee Bucks (42-39) lost 89-104 on the road to the Indiana Pacers. He was the top scorer with 25 points. Antetokounmpo also added 7 rebounds and dished 6 assists in 35 minutes. His team will play only one more game in the NBA Regular Season. And now that game is very crucial. It's Antetokounmpo's fourth season with the team. Antetokounmpo has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 22.9ppg, 8.8rpg, 5.4apg, 1.9bpg, 1.7spg, 2FGP: 56.4%(607-1077), 3FGP: 27.2% and FT: 77.0% in 80 games. Antetokounmpo has a dual citizenship: Greek and Nigerian. He is in the roster of the Greek senior national team.

   #3. The Greek player who performed third best last week abroad was former international power forward Ian Vougioukas (212-85, college: St.Louis, currently plays in VTB United League). Vougioukas led his Russian team Lokomotiv to a victory over the closely-ranked Unics Kazan (14-9) 83-77 in the VTB United League in Monday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Vougioukas recorded 21 points and added 4 passes. Lokomotiv Kuban (15-5) is placed fourth in group A. There are only three games left until the end of the VTB United League Regular Season. So now every game will be important. It's Vougioukas' first season with the team. His overall stats this year are: 9.8ppg, 3.8rpg, 1.4apg, 2FGP: 59.1%(68-115) and FT: 77.9%. Former Olympiacos S.F.P. Pireus starter played for the Greek national team three years ago.

An experienced small forward Stratos Perperoglou (203-84, currently plays in Spain) contributed to a 3-point FC Barcelona's victory against one of league's weakest teams Zaragoza (8-19) 91-88 in the Spanish Liga Endesa last Sunday. Perperoglou recorded 17 points in 21 minutes. FC Barcelona Lassa (18-8) is placed fourth in the Liga Endesa. This year Perperoglou's overall stats are: 8.5ppg and 2.7rpg in 20 games. He is also Greek national team player.

   #5. Former international guard Nikolaos Zisis (197-83, also represented by Octagon Europe, currently plays in Euroleague) was not able to help one of league's weakest teams Brose Baskets (10-20) in their last game on Thursday. Despite Zisis' good performance Brose Baskets was defeated 84-79 in Istanbul by the higher-ranked Galatasaray (#12). He was the second best scorer with 11 points. Zisis also added 4 rebounds and dished 4 assists. The Regular Season already ended in the Euroleague. Zisis' total stats this season are: 7.7ppg, 2.0rpg and 4.5apg. He used to play for the Greek national team two years ago.

   #6. Swingman Michael Bramos (196-87, college: Miami, OH, currently plays in Italy) was not able to secure a victory for one of league's weakest teams one of league's weakest teams Umana Venezia (17-9) in their game against Armani Milano (21-5) in the Italian Serie A. Bramos scored 8 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 25 minutes. Umana Venezia lost 80-88 in Milano to the leading Armani. They ended the series of five consecutive victories. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be extremely important. This year Bramos' total stats are: 10.0ppg, 3.9rpg and 1.5apg in 26 games. He is a naturalized American. Bramos is a former international player as he played for the Greek senior team four years ago. Strangely he has never played in Greece.

   #7. International center Giorgos Bogris (210-89, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help CB Canarias (19-8) in their game against Andorra (14-12) in the Spanish Liga Endesa. Bogris recorded 6 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. CB Canarias was edged 85-82 on the opponent's court by the lower-ranked Andorra (#8). Bogris has averaged so far 7.7ppg and 3.9rpg. He is also Greek national team player.

   #8. Center Georgios Papagiannis (217-97, currently plays in NBA) contributed to an easy victory against the Phoenix Suns (24-58) crushing them 129-104 in the NBA on Tuesday night. Papagiannis recorded 13 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 27 minutes. The Sacramento Kings have 32-49 record this season. His team will play only one more game in the NBA Regular Season. Papagiannis has averaged so far 5.6ppg and 4.1rpg in 21 games. He plays currently for the Greek U20 national team.

   #9. International forward Thanasis Antetokounmpo (199-92, currently plays in Spain) faced previously mentioned Giorgos Bogris in the Spanish Liga Endesa last game. Antetokounmpo managed to help MoraBanc Andorra to win against the third-ranked CB Canarias (19-8) 85-82. He recorded only 3 points. Antetokounmpo has averaged so far 6.4ppg and 3.2rpg. He is also in the roster of the Greek national team.

   #10. Small forward Leonidas Kaselakis (202-90, currently plays in VTB United League) couldn't help Astana (9-13) in their game against BC Nizhny Novgorod (8-15) in the VTB United League. He recorded 8 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. The eighth-placed Astana (9-13) was defeated 76-72 in Nizhny Novgorod by the lower-ranked BC Nizhny Novgorod (#9) in the group A of VTB United League. It was Astana's third consecutive loss in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the VTB United League Regular Season. Kaselakis has averaged so far 7.3ppg, 4.6rpg and 1.4apg. He is a former U20 international player as seven years ago he still played for the Greek national team.

   #11. Former international guard Dimitrios Katsivelis (196-91, currently plays in VTB United League) is a teammate of previously mentioned Leonidas Kaselakis and both played together in the last VTB United League game. Katsivelis couldn't help Astana in their game against BC Nizhny Novgorod. He recorded 6 points in 25 minutes. His team lost 72-76. Katsivelis has averaged so far 7.2ppg, 3.4rpg, 4.8apg and 1.4spg in 19 games. He used to play for the Greek national team four years ago.

   #12. Former U20 international swingman Anastasios Traianos (197-87, currently plays in United Kingdom) couldn't help Manchester Giants in their game against Sheffield Sharks in the British BBL. Traianos cannot count Sunday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only 2 points in 13 minutes. His team was crushed by 34 points 92-58. Traianos has averaged so far 4.8ppg and 2.7rpg in 26 games. He used to play for the Greek U20 national team back in 2006.


The list of other players, who all have Greek passport but never been selected to any of Greek national teams:

   #1. Zach Auguste (208-C-93, agency: Pensack Sports, college: Notre Dame, currently plays in Turkey) could not help Usak Sportlif (7-18) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Auguste's very good performance Usak Sportlif was badly defeated 103-87 on the road by the higher-ranked Demir IBB (#12). He recorded a double-double by scoring 31 points and getting 10 rebounds. This season Auguste has relatively solid stats: 12.0ppg and 7.9rpg. He is a naturalized American. Strangely Auguste has never played in Greece.

   #2. Nikolaos Stylianou (198-F-88, college: W.Texas A&M, currently plays in Cyprus) led Keravnos to a victory over the closely-ranked Enosis (8-12) crushing them 96-65 in the Cypriot Division A in Wednesday night's game. Stylianou was the best player in that game. He recorded 19 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Keravnos Strovolou (14-1) is placed first in the Division A. It was his team's tenth consecutive victory in a row. This season Stylianou has relatively solid stats: 10.9ppg, 3.5rpg and 1.9apg. He has a dual citizenship: Greek and Cypriot.

   #3. Trian Iliadis (190-G-89, college: ODU, currently plays in Australia) was not able to help Wanneroo (3-1) in their last game. Despite Iliadis' very good performance the fourth-placed Wanneroo (3-1) lost 86-94 in Morley to the higher-ranked (#3) Eagles in the SBL group. He was the top scorer with 20 points. Iliadis also added 6 boards, dished 5 assists and stole 3 balls in 32 minutes. It was Wanneroo's first loss after three consecutive victories. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Iliadis is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in Wanneroo's roster. He has individually a very good season with high stats. Iliadis averages: 18.3ppg, 4.3rpg, 5.0apg and 2.3spg in three games he played so far. He is another player who holds two passports: Greek and Australian. Despite Iliadis' Greek nationality, he previously played for the Australian university national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Greek team.

   #4. Experienced Vassilis Kounas (194-G-84, currently plays in Cyprus) was not able to secure a victory for one of league's weakest teams Apoel (11-9) in their last game. Despite Kounas' good performance Apoel lost 79-87 in Larnaca to the second-ranked AEK. He was the second best scorer with 14 points. Kounas also added 5 assists in 36 minutes. Kounas is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in Apoel's roster. He has averaged so far 7.3ppg, 2.3rpg and 2.7apg in 18 games. Kounas has both Greek and Cypriot nationalities.

   #5. Dimitris Agathangelidis (182-G-98, currently plays in Sweden) couldn't help Talje Knights (3-15) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite Agathangelidis' very good performance Talje Knights (#8) was defeated 78-69 on the opponent's court by the higher-ranked Huddinge (#5) in the BEHS forts group. He was the top scorer with 24 points. Agathangelidis also added 4 rebounds. The Second Stage already ended. Agathangelidis has averaged so far 9.4ppg, 2.7rpg, 1.5apg and 1.5spg. He also holds two passports: Greek and Swedish.

   #6. Maximiliano Sole (198-F-88, agency: Duran International, currently plays in Spain) was the major contributor in a Real Madrid II's victory against the 14th-ranked Rivas crushing them 88-60 in the Spanish EBA (fourth division) last Saturday. Sole scored 15 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 21 minutes. This year Sole has relatively solid stats: 11.7ppg, 8.4rpg, 2.4apg and 1.5spg in 27 games. He holds both Uruguayan and Greek passports.

   #7. Grant Fiorentinos (208-F/C-92, college: SIU Edwardsville, currently plays in New Zealand) contributed to an easy victory against the league outsider Giants 81-63 in the New Zealand NBL on Sunday night. Fiorentinos recorded 15 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. This season Fiorentinos has relatively solid stats: 14.8ppg and 7.0rpg. He has British and Greek nationalities. Despite Fiorentinos' Greek passport, he previously played for the British U20 national team and probably cannot be called to the Greek team.

   #8. Emils Duselis (192-G/F, currently plays in Australia) contributed to an easy victory against the tenth-ranked Crusaders crushing them 96-75 in the Australian State League (second division) in Sunday night's game. Duselis scored 15 points, had 6 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 32 minutes. This year Duselis has relatively solid stats: 12.9ppg, 5.0rpg and 5.4apg in seven games. He has dual citizenship: Greek and Australian.

   #9. Max Calligeros (197-F/C-92, currently plays in Australia) couldn't help Sturt Sabres in their game against Forestville Eagles in the Australian State League (second division). Calligeros cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only 3 points. His team were crushed by 42 points 99-57. Calligeros has averaged so far 2.5ppg and 3.0rpg. He holds both Greek and Australian passports.

   #10. Georgios Tyrekidis (208-C-96, currently plays in Germany) managed to help WSG Koenigs Wusterhausen to win against the eighth-ranked Rendsburg 79-73 in the German Regionalliga (fourth division) in Saturday night's game. Tyrekidis recorded only 4 points. Tyrekidis has averaged so far 1.8ppg and 2.0rpg. He has dual citizenship: Greek and German.   




KAOK Korinthou adds Antonopoulos to their roster - 2 hours ago
KAO Palaimon Korinthou (C) added to their roster 27-year old forward Lampros Antonopoulos (200-90). The last time (15-16) he played at AE Ikaros Kallitheas in Greek C league. Antonopoulos missed last season and had one year break from professional basketball.
Antonopoulos has played previously for three other teams: Peristeri GS Athens, Milonas and Cretan Kings
