They accounted for 27 points in the opening quarter to take a 27:20 lead. Great Britain continued to struggle offensively without Pops Mensah-Bonsu, who was sidelined with minor injury. Netherlands fired 30 points in the second quarter and boosted the margin to 16 points at halftime 57:41. Great Britain finally straighten their game as they clawed closer in the third term. Chris Finch team outscored their opponents and trailed by 12 points heading into the fourth stanza. Great Britain managed to get even closer in the fourth frame but Netherlands stayed calm and posted a comfortable win at the end. Henk Norel (212-F/C-87) dropped 14 points for Netherlands. Rogier Jansen (188-G-84, agency: Court Side) and Robin Smuelders delivered 12 points each in the win. Matthew Bryan-Amaning (206-F-88) netted 16 points for Great Britain. Forward Calvin Chitwood (203-F-86, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management, college: Cal.St. Northridge) and shooting guard Todd Brown (196-G-87, agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) have signed a one-year deal with DeFriesland Aris. Chitwood is a graduate from California State University Northridge
Chitwood played most recently for Niigata Albirex in the Japanese JBL., where he averaged 7.1 points and 5 rebounds last season [read more]
Forward Calvin Chitwood (203-F-86, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management, college: Cal.St. Northridge) and shooting guard Todd Brown (196-G-87, agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) have signed a one-year deal with DeFriesland Aris. Chitwood is a graduate from California State University Northridge Chitwood played most recently for Niigata Albirex in the Japanese JBL., where he averaged 7.1 points and 5 rebounds last season. Shooting guard Brown averaged 13 points last season for Wright State University. Brown is the successor of Craig Moore.
Jayme Miller (205-F-85) will not return in Leeuwarden. Miller did have an offer in his pocket, but has recently indicated, after two years Friesland Aris, to choose for a new challenge.

Netherlands created a run midway through the second period and Filipan gave them 32:22 advantage. Alasdair Fraser sent the squads to the lockers at 33:27 as Netherlands won the second frame 16-13. Jegen scored for 40:33 while Jeroen Scheltes netted two for 44:37. Lee Reilly (182-G-92) was the last to score at the end of the third period as the board showed 50:41. Filipan increased the lead to 61:47, while Alasdair Fraser reduced to 61:56 after 9-0 run with his side. Filipan was the last to score for the winners to bring his last points from the free throw line. Bunyan did the same for the Scots as the latter fell at 0-2 record. Sven Burger paced all the winners with 19 points. Ryan Merkx (184-G-92) nailed 14, while Jeroen Scheltes scored 10. Alasdair Fraser answered with 26 points and 10 rebounds, while Lee Reilly netted 13.
