Eredivisie Semifinals: Zwolle surprises Leiden in Game Three, stays alive - May 9, 2012

Third games of Eredivisie Semifinals were played last night. Zwolle surprised Leiden on the road 63-69 to stay alive in the series. The score is 2-1 for Leiden and they still need one more win for the Finals. However, Game Four will be played tomorrow in Zwolle. Also last night, Groningen destroyed Den Bosch with huge 72-49. Thanks to this victory Groningen jumped to 2-1 lead in this series. Den Bosh will be the host tomorrow.

Leiden - Zwolle 63-69 (2-1)
The guests trailed by 6 points after three quarters before their 20-8 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Zwolle made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. It was a good game for American-Ghanian forward Amu Saaka (198-88, college: Furman, agency: Pro One Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. International forward Gerald Robinson (204-84, college: Tenn-Martin, agency: Court Side) contributed with 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American forward Seamus Boxley (201-82, college: Portland St., agency: Prossin Sports Management) answered with 23 points and Worthy de Jong (194-88, agency: R.H.Consultancy) added 12 points in the effort for Leiden.

The game without a history. Groningen led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Groningen outrebounded Den Bosch 42-23 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American guard David Bell (186-81) who led his team to a victory scoring 12 points. Surinamese forward Sergio de Randamie (201-84, college: Houston, agency: R.H.Consultancy) helped adding 9 points and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was American forward Tai Wesley (200-86, college: Utah St.) with 15 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import guard David Gonzalvez (193-87, college: Richmond) scored 4 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
