Finals, Game 3: Leiden - Den Bosch 74-77 (0-3)

Den Bosch was too strong for Leiden once again. Visitors celebrated 74-77 victory on Saturday night for 3-0 lead in Eredivisie Finals. The format is best-of-seven and Den Bosch is now just one win away from the title. The first chance to take it Den Bosch will have next Thursday, when they will host Game Four.
The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 28-15. But Leiden won second period 24-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Den Bosch made 23-of-29 free shots (79.3 percent) during the game. It was a good game for international forward Stefan Wessels (203-F-84, agency: R.H.Consultancy) who led his team to a victory with 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks. American point guard Frank Turner (178-88, college: Canisius, agency: Court Side) contributed with 12 points and 4 assists for the winners. Five Den Bosch players scored in double figures. Canadian forward Jevohn Shepherd (196-86, college: Michigan) answered with 21 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Seamus Boxley (201-82, college: Portland St., agency: Prossin Sports Management) added 13 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Leiden.
Leiden is the defending champion, but they are in very difficult situation now. They failed twice at home in the Finals and will need to win four straight games to defend the title. Den Bosch was Dutch champion last time in 2007.

Zorg and Zekerheid Leiden (Eredivisie) signed 23-year old American guard Carrington Love (186-78kg-94, college: Green Bay). He played last season at VfL Kirchheim Knights in German ProA. In 37 games he had 14.0ppg, 4.3rpg, 6.9apg (leader !!!) and 2.2spg (in top 3). Love helped them to make it to the semifinals. Zorg and Zekerheid Leiden (Eredivisie) tabbed 29-year old American center Clayton Vette (202-109kg-88, college: Winona State, agency: Court Side) from Landstede Basketbal Zwolle. In 39 Eredivisie games in Holland he averaged impressive 17.6ppg, 8.6rpg, 1.3apg and 1.1spg last season. He helped them to make it to both league and Cup finals after they ended regular season as second best team. Den Helder signs rookie Tom Koopman - 3 days ago
The Bright Kings Den Helder (Eredivisie) inked Dutch center Tom Koopman (203-95kg). He just graduated from Citadel (NCAA). Koopman has played there for the last four years. In 32 games he recorded only 2.2ppg and 1.5rpg last season. As mentioned above he is just out of the college and it will be his first season in pro basketball.
