In the last 10-15 years the game of basketball in Holland has suffered a great deal. Other nations are maximizing the athletic and skill potential of their young players.
Instead of making more avenues to get our prospects better, the pro-teams using those young players just to fill the bench.
I understand that more players wont make money playing basketball than will but its not only about them. The product of basketball in Holland is pretty bad right now.
The last two years a lot of Dutch prospects left Holland, because of this situation, moving to the US or Spain to develop their skills and to seek their dreams.

Zwolle - Groningen 74-68 Zwolle outgunned Groningen to open win count in Eredivisie Finals. Groningen was trailing by 6 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 23-16 charge of Zwolle, which allowed them to win the game. They made 25-of-31 free shots (80.6 percent) during the game. Groningen - Zwolle 82-71 Groningen secured the second consecutive victory in Eredivisie Finals. They shot down Zwolle for 2-0 lead. The game was mostly controlled by Groningen. Casteels leaves Leiden - May 19, 2016

46-year old Belgian coach Eddy Casteels (agency: Court Side) left Zorg and Zekerheid Leiden (Eredivisie). He helped them to make it to the cup final. He steered his team ending the regular season as at the second position in the league. They also played in the supercup final. They also advanced to the league semifinals.
