Terry Cooper
What a summer it has been with the Olympics, European Qualifications, and team transactions that have made the summer of 2012 very busy as well as hot! With the 2012-13 season preparing to start in the next few weeks, new teams are getting ready for a level of basketball that will have players and coaches on their p's and q's every week. Four new teams will begin their journey to the championship in the spring as we welcome: MSV/Zeemacht, Habitop/Orca's, UBALL, and Almere Pioneers to the league. A couple of the teams are familiar to the PromotieDivisie and hopefully will be able to get off to a great start early as for UBALL and MSV/Zeemacht this will be a test for them to establish themselves as a contender. With four new teams in the league we must say farwell to a few teams that were relegated or decided not to play this season such as: GOBA, VBC Akrides, BV Hoofddorp, and Jugglers. We wish them success in Eerste Divisie and hopeful return to the division. 2012-13 season will be a bit of a mystery to determine who will come out of the blocks early in competition and establish themselves as an elite team. Binnenland, Red Giants, Leiden, and De Hoppers hope to continue their great play over the past seasons as these teams have no problem building a solid cast of players that compliment each other well on the court. The other teams will have to bring in key players with experience with young talent that have winning as a priority as well as team play and dedication in order to make noise early. As time has proven in the past few seasons, atleast one team will show their dominance against the league veteran teams and show why they belong in this league while others will have to make changes early to avoid falling behind and possible relegation at the end of the season. PromoiteDivisie basketball is back for another season and I will be here to keep you on track of it all wherever I am playing (yes, still doing my thang!). Hope everyone summer was a blast but now for those true 'ballers' it's time to get back to work on the hardwood and show'em what you got. I'm Terry Cooper (191-G-73, college: N.Carolina A&T) and until next time, stay tuned!!!

Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Dutch players who are currently playing abroad. Aaron Doornekamp (201-F-85, agency: Interperformances) could not help CB Canarias (15-5) in their last game.
