After 7 rounds played we can already see who rules in the Eredivisie and who belongs to weaker ones.

The most exciting game of round 7 in the Eredivisie took place in Groningen. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 3rd placed Zwolle (5-3) to fifth ranked Groningen (5-2) 85-83 in the game for the third place. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Zwolle. Groningen made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for Surinamese forward Sergio de Randamie (201-84, college: Houston, agency: R.H.Consultancy) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. International Jessey Voorn (193-90, agency: Court Side) helped adding 18 points (made all of his eight free throws). Groningen's coach Hakim Salem used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American guard Josh Magette (185-90, college: Al.-Huntsville, agency: Pro One Sports) responded with 24 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. Groningen moved-up to third place. Zwolle at the other side dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with M.Magixx. Groningen are looking forward to face Weert (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Zwolle will play against M.Magixx (#4) in Nijmegen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Very important is a road loss of second ranked Leiden (6-2) against eighth ranked Leeuwarden (3-5) on Saturday night. Visiting Leiden was defeated by Leeuwarden in a tough game in Leeuwarden 69-73. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Leiden. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Samme Givens (195, college: Drexel) who led the winners and scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Robert Holcomb Faye accounted for 5 points, 8 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals. Leeuwarden's coach Erik Braal allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. International Worthy de Jong (194-88, agency: R.H.Consultancy) came up with 20 points and 5 rebounds for Leiden in the defeat. Leeuwarden moved-up to seventh place. Leiden at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. Leeuwarden will play against higher ranked Den Helder K. (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Leiden will play against the league's leader Den Bosch (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
Eredivisie top team - Den Bosch (8-0) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed eighth ranked Weert (2-6) 88-66. Wil Carter fired 23 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Kenneth van Kempen produced 11 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Undefeated Den Bosch have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 8-0 record. Loser Weert keeps the eighth position with six games lost. Den Bosch will meet league's second-placed Leiden on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Weert will play against Groningen (#3) in Groningen and hope to secure a win.

Amsterdam - Den Helder K. 59-66

Bottom-ranked Amsterdam (0-7) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their seventh consecutive match to sixth ranked Den Helder K. (4-4) 66-59. It looked good early as Amsterdam took an 12-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Den Helder K. took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 7 points. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Amsterdam to just 6 points in third and fourth quarters. Worth to mention a great performance of international center Jeroen van der List (213-89, college: Indian Hills CC, agency: Court Side) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 7 rebounds. American guard Mark Hill (180, college: CS Northridge, agency: Court Side) contributed with 13 points and 4 steals for the winners. Center Berend Weijs (208, college: Maryland) answered with 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and the former international guard Aaron Roye (185-88) added 12 points and 6 assists in the effort for Amsterdam. Den Helder K. maintains sixth place with 4-4 record. Amsterdam lost their seventh game in a row. They still closes the standings with seven games lost. Den Helder K.'s next round opponent will be Leeuwarden (#7) at home. Amsterdam will play against Rotterdam and hopes to get finally their first victory.

Den Bosch dominated on the defensive end, holding Weert to just 7 points in third quarter. Den Bosch looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Very expected game when 9th ranked Rotterdam (1-7) was defeated at home by fifth ranked M.Magixx (5-3) 80-70. The game was mostly controlled by M.Magixx. Rotterdam was better in second period 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Rotterdam to just 7 points in third quarter. It was a very good performance for Ghanian-American guard Kwadzo Ahelegbe (187-88, college: N.Iowa) who helped to win the game recording 22 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. American forward Kyle Spain (196-87, college: San Diego St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. The former international forward Daniel Jones (200-79) answered with 16 points and American power forward Cameron Echols (203-81, college: Ball St., agency: R.H.Consultancy) added 10 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Rotterdam. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Rotterdam's coach Randy Wiel rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
