Aron Baynes
International center Jeroen van der List (213-C-89, agency: Court Side) had an amazing evening in the last round for Den Helder K., receiving a Player of the Week award for round 11.
The 23-year old player had a double-double of 28 points and 13 rebounds, while his team beat Zwolle (#5, 7-5) 89-77. Den Helder K. is placed at 6th position in Dutch Eredivisie. Den Helder K. is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 6-7 record. In the team's last game van der List had a remarkable 60.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Den Helder K.'s top player in his first season with the team. Former Indian Hills CC star has very solid stats this year. van der List is in league's top in rebounds (5th best: 7.5rpg) and averages impressive 1.5bpg and 61.1% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 24-year old American Darryl Webb (198-F-88, agency: Pro One Sports) of Zwolle. Webb had a very good evening with a double-double of 23 points and 14 rebounds. Bad luck as Zwolle lost that game 77-89 to slightly lower-ranked Den Helder K. (#6, 6-7). This loss caused Zwolle to drop to 5th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 7-5 record is not bad and everything may still change. Webb is a newcomer at Zwolle, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.2ppg (#5). He also registered 10.7 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Kyle Spain (196-F-87) of M.Magixx (#3). Spain scored 24 points and grabbed ten rebounds. He was a key player of M.Magixx, leading his team to a 88-70 easy win against the lower-ranked Rotterdam (#10, 1-11). M.Magixx needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 8 victories and 4 lost games. Spain has a great season in Holland. After 11 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.3ppg (4th best) and rebounds with 8.4rpg (3rd best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Joost Padberg (202-F/C-91) of Weert - 18 points, 14 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Peter Van Paassen (211-C/F-78) of Den Bosch - 9 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Kelvin Martin (195-F-89) of M.Magixx - 23 points and 5 rebounds
7. Ross Bekkering (203-F-87) of Leiden - 15 points and 10 rebounds
8. Andre Young (175-G-90) of Den Bosch - 17 points and 6 assists
9. Stefan Wessels (203-F-84) of Den Bosch - 14 points and 6 rebounds
10. Maurits Pieper (198-F-90) of Amsterdam - 19 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Van Der Horst number one in Holland for round 4 - 3 days ago

Former international Swingman Dimeo Van Der Horst (197-G/F-91) had a great game in the last round for Amsterdam, receiving a Player of the Week award for round 4. The 25-year old player was the main contributor (19 points, five rebounds and seven assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Weert (#8, 0-4), the league's bottom-ranked team 95-83. Amsterdam is placed at 4th position in Dutch Eredivisie. Amsterdam is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the stand...   [read more]

Eredivisie Round 4: Groningen keeps a leadership position - 4 days ago

After 4 rounds played we can already see who rules in the Eredivisie and who belongs to weaker ones. Host teams show no mercy winning all games. The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Groningen as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Groningen defeated 6th ranked Leeuwarden at home 73-56. The game was mostly controlled by Groningen. Leeuwarden managed to win fourth quarter 15-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mentio...   [read more]
