Eredivisie round 13 caused change at the leadership position. Third defeat of league's leader Leiden (12-3) against second ranked Den Bosch (13-2) 95-93 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Leiden. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Den Bosch made 26-of-33 free shots (78.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Leiden turnovers. 27 personal fouls committed by Leiden helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Matt Bauscher (188-85, college: Boise St.) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 7 assists. His fellow American import guard Andre Young (175-90, college: Clemson) contributed with 20 points and 5 assists for the winners. Canadian forward Ross Bekkering (203-87) answered with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds for Leiden. Den Bosch have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader. Leiden at the other side dropped to the second place with three games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Den Bosch. Leiden will play next round against strong M.Magixx trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Den Bosch will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Zwolle at home.

American forward Jamal Boykin (203-87, college: California) stepped up and scored 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and Jason Dourisseau chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side the former international power forward Nick Oudendag (210-87) responded with 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Groningen moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated M.Magixx. Groningen will play against Leeuwarden (#5) on the road in the next round. M.Magixx will play against the league's second-placed Leiden and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Weert was also quite interesting. Seventh ranked Den Helder K. (8-7) played at the court of 8th ranked Weert (4-11). Den Helder K. managed to secure a 8-point victory 85-77 on Saturday. Storm Warren nailed a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side. Kenneth van Kempen came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists for Weert in the defeat. Weert's coach Jim Meil rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the third consecutive win for Den Helder K.. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Leeuwarden and Zwolle. Weert lost their third game in a row. They keep the eighth position with 11 games lost. Den Helder K. will meet at home Amsterdam (#9) in the next round. Weert will play against Rotterdam and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game between sixth ranked Zwolle (8-7) and 10th ranked Rotterdam (1-14) in Zwolle ended with biggest points difference. Zwolle outscored guests from Rotterdam 97-67. American players dominated the game. Tanner Smith fired 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Zwolle moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Den Helder K. and Leeuwarden. Rotterdam lost their thirteenth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 14 games lost. Zwolle's next round opponent will be league's leader Den Bosch on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Rotterdam will play against Weert (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last game of round 13 Leeuwarden beat Amsterdam on the road 84-80.
The most impressive performance of 13th round was 30 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists by Aaron Roye of Amsterdam.



Amsterdam - Leeuwarden 80-84

No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Leeuwarden (8-7) beat on the road 9th ranked Amsterdam (1-14) 84-80. The guests were ahead by 3 points but lost the second period ending it with a 2-point deficit before their 27-21 run, which allowed them to win the game. American forward Jerrell Williams (203-88, college: La Salle) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. His fellow American import guard Robert Holcomb Faye (185-84, college: Radford) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 assists. Holcomb Faye is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The former international guard Aaron Roye (185-88) produced a double-double by scoring 30 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international guard Jeremy Ormskerk (190-82, agency: Court Side) added 21 points respectively for lost side. Five Leeuwarden and four Amsterdam players scored in double figures. Amsterdam's coach Tyronne Marioneaux tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the third consecutive win for Leeuwarden. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Den Helder K. and Zwolle. Amsterdam lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 14 games lost. Leeuwarden's next round opponent will be higher ranked Groningen (#4) in Groningen and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Very important is a road loss of third ranked M.Magixx (10-5) against fourth ranked Groningen (10-5) on Sunday night. Visiting M.Magixx was defeated by Groningen in a tough game in Groningen 87-91. The hosts were already 12 points ahead at halftime and as many as 18 after three quarters before a 31-17 last quarter charge of M.Magixx cut the lead to 91-87 at the end of the game.
