Seventh-ranked Zwolle (8-8) gave a tough game to first ranked Den Bosch (14-2) on Thursday. Den Bosch managed to secure only two-point victory 86-84. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 20-13 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Den Bosch have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 14-2 record. Zwolle at the other side keeps the seventh place with eight games lost. Den Bosch are looking forward to face Den Helder K. (#6) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Zwolle will play against Amsterdam and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game between Top Four teams took place in Leiden. Second ranked host Leiden (13-3) defeated one of their biggest challengers M.Magixx (10-6) 86-75. International guard Arvin Slagter (191-85, agency: Court Side) notched 21 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the effort and Worthy de Jong supported him with 18 points and 6 rebounds. Even a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds by American forward Kyle Spain (196-87, college: San Diego St.) did not help to save the game for M.Magixx. Leiden maintains second position with 13-3 record behind leader Den Bosch. M.Magixx at the other side keeps the third place with six games lost. They share the position with Groningen. Leiden will play against Leeuwarden (#5) at home in the next round. M.Magixx will play against Weert and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game in Leeuwarden was also quite interesting. 4th ranked Groningen (10-6) played at the court of fifth ranked Leeuwarden (9-7). Leeuwarden managed to secure a 7-point victory 78-71 on Wednesday. The best player for the winners was Jerrell Williams who scored 21 points and 8 rebounds. Rogier Jansen produced 20 points for the guests. Leeuwarden have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 9-7 record, which they share with Den Helder K. Loser Groningen dropped to the third place with six games lost. They share the position with M.Magixx. Leeuwarden will meet league's second-placed Leiden on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Groningen will have a break next round.

In the last two games of round 14 Weert won against Rotterdam on the opponent's court 70-65. Den Helder K. managed to outperform Amsterdam in a home game 71-64.


Den Bosch - Zwolle 86-84

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 9th ranked Rotterdam's (1-15) home loss to eighth ranked Weert (5-11) 65-70 on Thursday. Weert maintains eighth position with 5-11 record. Rotterdam lost fourteenth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom place with 15 games lost. They share the position with Amsterdam. Weert will meet higher ranked M.Magixx (#3) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Rotterdam will have a break next round.

Leeuwarden - Groningen 78-71

The game in Leeuwarden was also quite interesting. 4th ranked Groningen (10-6) played at the court of fifth ranked Leeuwarden (9-7). Leeuwarden managed to secure a 7-point victory 78-71 on Wednesday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 27-16. But Groningen won second period 24-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The other American import guard Robert Holcomb Faye (185-84, college: Radford) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 assists. Holcomb Faye is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The former international guard Rogier Jansen (188-84, agency: Court Side) produced 20 points and international Jessey Voorn (193-90, agency: Court Side) added 16 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Five Leeuwarden and four Groningen players scored in double figures. Leeuwarden have a solid four-game winning streak.
