Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Dutchs who are currently playing abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international center Henk Norel (214-87, currently plays in Spain), who plays in the Spanish ACB. He could not help CAI Zaragoza (8-6) in their last game. Despite Norel's very good performance CAI Zaragoza was edged 77-75 on the road by the lower-ranked (#12) UCAM Murcia. He was the top scorer with 18 points. Norel also added 7 rebounds in 30 minutes on the court. It's Norel's first season with the team. Norel belongs to league's best rebounders and is ranked #6 with 6.4rpg. He also averaged so far 12.1ppg and FT: 51.3% in the 14 games he played so far. Norel is currently a member of the Dutch senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international forward Robin Smeulders (207-87, agency: Court Side, college: Portland, currently plays in Germany). He contributed to a EWE Baskets' victory against the closely-ranked ALBA Berlin (10-4) 89-81 in the German BBL on Friday night. Smeulders scored 7 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 18 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. EWE Baskets Oldenburg (11-5) is placed second in the BBL. This year Smeulders averages: 6.9ppg, 3.6rpg, 2FGP: 58.3%(35-60), 3FGP: 28.6% and FT: 79.5% in the 16 games. He has a dual citizenship: Dutch and German. Smeulders is in the roster of the Dutch senior national team.

The Dutch player who performed third best last week abroad was former U16 international forward Kevin van Wijk (203-89, currently plays college basketball in the States). van Wijk led Valparaiso to an easy victory against the Indiana Univ-Purdue Univ-Indianapolis (1-2) crushing them 89-69 in the NCAA in Thursday night's game. He scored 15 points in a mere 19 minutes. The Valparaiso University has conference record this season. This year van Wijk's overall stats are: 8.8ppg, 4.8rpg, 1.2apg, 2FGP: 58.7%(44-75) and FT: 52.9% in the 12 games. He played for the Dutch U16 national team seven years ago.

   #4. Forward Kadeem Pantophlet (201-90, currently studies in the States) was not able to help the Duquesne in their game against the University Louisiana at Lafayette (1-2) in the NCAA. Pantophlet scored 5 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. The Duquesne was defeated 91-79 in Lafayette, LA by the University Louisiana at Lafayette. Pantophlet's total stats this season are: 8.8ppg, 4.8rpg and 1.2apg. He used to play for the Dutch U20 national team back in 2009.

Former international power forward Roeland Schaftenaar (211-88, college: Oregon St., currently plays in Spain) managed to help Leche Rio Breogan Lugo to win against the 12th-ranked Caceres Basket (4-8) 69-64 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) in Saturday night's game. Schaftenaar scored only 4 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Leche Rio Breogan Lugo (7-5) is placed fifth in the LEB Gold. Schaftenaar's total stats this season are: 6.7ppg, 5.0rpg and 1.9apg. He used to play for the Dutch national team two years ago.

   #6. Center Jito Kok (206-94, is currently at the American university) was not able to secure a victory for the San Diego in their game against the James Madison University (0-0) in the NCAA. He scored only 4 points. The San Diego was edged 62-59 at home by the James Madison University. Kok's total stats this season are: 6.7ppg, 5.0rpg and 1.9apg. He is U18 international player who is currently on the Dutch National Team roster.

Former U20 international center Thomas van der Mars (208-90, currently plays college basketball in the States) helped Portland edge the Bradley University 57-55 in the NCAA in Sunday night's game. van der Mars scored only 2 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 14 minutes. The University of Portland has conference record this season. This year van der Mars' total stats are: 6.7ppg, 5.0rpg and 1.9apg in the 11 games. He used to play for the Dutch U20 national team two years ago.

Point guard Charlon Kloof (190-90, currently plays college basketball in the States) couldn't help the St.Bonaventure in their game against the North Carolina State University (0-0) in the NCAA. Kloof cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only 3 points. The St.Bonaventure was badly defeated 92-73 in Raleigh, NC by the North Carolina State University. Kloof has averaged so far 6.7ppg, 5.0rpg and 1.9apg. He used to play for the Dutch U20 national team back in 2010.

U18 international center Olaf Schaftenaar (206-93, currently plays college basketball in the States) helped Oregon St. win their game against the University of San Diego 86-79 in the NCAA on Saturday night. Schaftenaar scored only 3 points in 6 minutes on the court. The Oregon State University has conference record this season. Schaftenaar has averaged so far 6.7ppg, 5.0rpg and 1.9apg in the 11 games. He used to play for the Dutch U18 national team last year.

Power forward Gerald Robinson (202-84, also represented by Court Side, college: Tenn-Martin, currently plays in Cyprus) couldn't help Apollon (4-5) in their game against Keravnos (7-2) in the Cypriot Division A. Robinson cannot count Friday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only 2 points. Apollon was badly defeated 94-78 in Strovolos by the second-ranked Keravnos. They ended the series of four consecutive victories. Robinson has averaged so far 3.0ppg and 1.5rpg. He is a naturalized American. Robinson is international player as one years ago he still played for the Dutch senior national team. He used to play for Landstede Basketbal Zwolle in Dutch league.


The list of other players, who all have Dutch passport but never been selected to any of Dutch national teams:

   #1. Stanley Ocitti (203-F/C-80, college: Binghamton, currently plays in United Kingdom) led Worcester Wolves to a victory against the closely-ranked Glasgow Rocks (8-7) 83-70 in the British BBL last Saturday. He recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points and getting 13 rebounds. Worcester Wolves (9-7) is placed fifth in the BBL. Ocitti is currently fourth on the league's list of best rebounders. He has very reliable stats this season: 13.0ppg, 9.4rpg and 1.3apg. Ocitti is a naturalized American.

   #2. Kim Tillie (210-F-88, agency: Priority Sports, college: Utah, currently plays in Spain) contributed to a 2-point UCAM Murcia's victory against the sixth-ranked CAI Zaragoza (8-6) 77-75 in the Spanish ACB in Sunday night's game. He scored 6 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. UCAM Murcia (24-6) is placed in the ACB. Tillie's overall stats this season are: 7.9ppg, 4.2rpg and 1.1spg. He has a dual citizenship: Dutch and French.

   #3. Devon Van Oostrum (190-G-93, currently plays in Spain), who plays in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) could not help Caceres Basket (4-8) in their last game. Despite Van Oostrum's very good performance Caceres Basket lost 64-69 on the road to the much higher-ranked (#5) Leche Rio Breogan. He was the top scorer with 15 points (went 5 for 5 at the free throw line) in 23 minutes. Van Oostrum has relatively good stats this year: 10.3ppg, 2.8rpg and 2.6apg in the 12 games he played so far. He is another player who holds two passports: Dutch and British.

   #4. Josh Duinker (210-F/C-89, college: Richmond, currently plays in Spain) is a teammate of previously mentioned Devon Van Oostrum and both played together in the last Spanish LEB Gold game. Duinker, who plays in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) was not able to help Caceres Basket (4-8) in their last game on Saturday. Despite his good performance Caceres Basket was defeated 69-64 in Lugo by the much higher-ranked Leche Rio Breogan (#5). Duinker was the second best scorer with 12 points. He also added 5 rebounds. Duinker's overall stats this season are: 8.8ppg, 4.8rpg and 1.2apg. He has both Australian and Dutch nationalities.

   #5. Jonah Callenbach (194-F/G-93, currently plays in Spain) was not able to secure a victory for Fontedoso Carrefour (5-5) in their game against Oviedo CB (7-3) in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division). Callenbach scored 9 points in 23 minutes. But Fontedoso Carrefour lost 61-75 on the opponent's court to the second-ranked Oviedo_CB. This year Callenbach averages only 2.4ppg in the seven games. He also holds two passports: Portuguese and Dutch. Despite Callenbach's Dutch nationality, he currently plays for the Portuguese U20 national team and is not eligible to play for the Dutch team.

   #6. Joey van Zegeren McAdam (208-F-90, currently plays college basketball in the States) managed to help Virginia Tech in a victory in overtime against the Bradley University 66-65 in the NCAA last Saturday. van Zegeren McAdam scored only 2 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 13 minutes. This year van Zegeren McAdam's total stats are: 6.7ppg, 5.0rpg and 1.9apg in the 11 games.

   #7. Daniel Kickert (208-C/F-83, college: St.Mary's, CA, currently plays in Ukraine) couldn't help Dnipro in their game against Mykolaiv in the Ukrainian Superleague, despite his very good performance last Friday. Kickert was the top scorer with 30 points. He also added 5 rebounds in 28 minutes. But his team lost 71-76. Kickert has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 16.5ppg, 5.3rpg and 1.4apg in the 19 games. Kickert holds both Australian and Dutch passports.

Round 4 means everything may happen in Eredivisie as the season just started. The game had a very big importance for fourth-ranked Zwolle as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Zwolle defeated much higher ranked Den Bosch at home 72-65. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Den Bosch. American Guard Brandyn Curry (187-G-91) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Groningen, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 3. The 26-year old player was the main contributor (28 points, five rebounds and seven assists) to his team's victory, helping them to outclass, the league's bottom-ranked team Rotterdam (#8, 0-3) with 40-point margin 108-68.
