The shooter, originating from Hoofddorp, is recovering from a small surgery to her ankle. In the meantime she can slowly start practicing again. Esther is, like most of the team, going to practice and use the living (facilities) of the FSG Academy.
Esther moved in 2012 from BV Hoofddorp to CTO Amsterdam, the training program of the Dutch Basketball Federation. In 2015 Esther decided to combine practicing at CTO with playing games at Binnenland from Barendrecht. Last summer, Esther was again a fixed value for the Orange Angels U20 (the highest youth national team) at the European Championships in Matosinhos, Portugal. Esther scored an average of 8 points and also grabbed 4 rebounds a game. Against Greece she played her best game of the tournament; besides 7 rebounds, she scored 17 points (five 3-pointers). At this tournament she played together with her new teammates; Laura Steggink, Asa Kantebeen and Anne van Vlijmen. Assistant coach of the Royal Eagles, Ramon Kuipers, completed the same rol at this EC. Remy de Wit, Athletic Director FSG, was the headcoach of the Orange Angels U20 that summer.
Esther could pick several different clubs of the Women Basketball League, but consciously choose for KEUS/Royal Eagles from Apeldoorn. Esther Fokke: 'I think the team is a good fit for me and that I will be an added value for them.'
Coach Andre Bout is very pleased with the arrival of Esther. Bout: 'Esther is a welcome reinforcement for the team with all the experience she has gained during various youth tournaments and in the Women Basketball League. Her length and ability to shoot are a good addition for our group. Esther is somebody who completely lives for basketball and she is showing that by following our complete basketball program and by living on the FSG Campus.'

Former international Guard Karin Kuijt (175-G-90) put on an amazing game in the last round for top-ranked Lekdetec.nl, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 7. The 26-year old player got a double-double of 26 points and 11 assists, while her team outclassed Rotterdam (#7, 1-6) with 39-point margin 89-50. It allowed Lekdetec.nl to take over top position in the Dutch Eredivisie. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Lekdetec.nl already had a very good start winning all 6 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Kuijt had a remarkable six three-pointers out of 10 attempts. She turned to be Lekdetec.nl's top player in her first season with the team. Karin Kuijt has solid league stats. She is in league's top in points (6th best: 15.0ppg) and assists (2nd best: 4.8apg).
The second best player in last round's games was young Danielle Pruijs (184-PF-97) of Amazone. Pruijs had a very good evening with 8 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Amazone lost that game 50-61 to the higher-ranked Loon Lions (#5, 3-3). Amazone are still at the very bottom. 7 lost games are too many considering they did not win any game. Pruijs is well-known at Amazone and is a proven leader in her second season with the team.
Third on the list of top players last round was international guard Tanya Broering (178-G-84) of Loon Lions (#5). Broering showcased her all-around game by recording 17 points, eight rebounds and four assists in the last round. She was a key player of Loon Lions, leading her team to a 61-50 win against Amazone (#8, 0-7). Loon Lions needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 3 lost games. Broering has a great season in Holland. After only 3 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.3ppg (3rd best).

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
