   #1. This week's number one is an international center Henk Norel (214-87, currently plays in Spain). He was the major contributor in a CAI Zaragoza's victory against the closely-ranked Gescrap BB (10-5) 81-74 in the Spanish ACB in Sunday night's game. Norel scored 16 points, had 5 rebounds and made 2 blocks in 29 minutes on the court. CAI Zaragoza (9-6) is placed sixth in the ACB. Norel has relatively good stats this year: 12.4ppg, 6.3rpg, 2FGP: 61.0%(83-136) and FT: 51.3% in the 15 games he played so far. He is currently a member of the Dutch senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international forward Robin Smeulders (207-87, agency: Court Side, college: Portland, currently plays in Germany). Smeulders contributed to an easy victory against the league outsider LTi 46ers (4-12) 102-86 in the German BBL last Sunday. He recorded 8 points. EWE Baskets Oldenburg (12-5) is placed second in the BBL. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. This season Smeulders averages: 7.0ppg, 3.4rpg, 2FGP: 58.5%(38-65), 3FGP: 28.6% and FT: 77.1%. He has a dual citizenship: Dutch and German. Smeulders is in the roster of the Dutch senior national team.

The Dutch player who performed third best last week abroad was former U20 international center Thomas van der Mars (208-90, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA. He could not help the Portland (0-1) in their last game. Despite van der Mars' good performance the Portland lost 50-61 on the road to the University of San Diego. He scored 12 points, had 8 rebounds and made 2 blocks in 28 minutes. This year van der Mars' overall stats are: 7.0ppg, 3.4rpg, 2FGP: 58.5%(38-65), 3FGP: 28.6% and FT: 77.1% in the 17 games. He played for the Dutch U20 national team three years ago.

Power forward Roeland Schaftenaar (211-88, college: Oregon St., currently plays in Spain), who plays in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) was not able to help Leche Rio Breogan (7-6) in their last game on Friday. Despite Schaftenaar's good performance Leche Rio Breogan was defeated 77-69 in Logrono by the lower-ranked CB Clavijo (#7). He recorded 10 points. Schaftenaar's total stats this season are: 7.0ppg, 4.8rpg and 1.8apg. He used to play for the Dutch national team back in 2010.

   #5. Former U16 international forward Kevin van Wijk (203-89, currently studies in the States), who plays in the NCAA was not able to secure a victory for the Valparaiso (0-1) in their last game. Despite van Wijk's good performance the Valparaiso lost 54-63 at home to the Loyola University of Chicago. He scored 10 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 25 minutes. This year van Wijk's total stats are: 7.0ppg, 4.8rpg and 1.8apg in the 12 games. He used to play for the Dutch U16 national team eight years ago.

   #6. Point guard Charlon Kloof (190-90, is currently at the American university) couldn't help the St.Bonaventure in their game against the Iona College (1-1) in the NCAA. Kloof scored 7 points and added 8 assists. The St.Bonaventure was badly defeated 93-74 on their home court in St.Bonaventure, NY by the Iona College. Kloof has averaged so far 7.0ppg, 4.8rpg and 1.8apg. He is a former U20 international player as he played for the Dutch team three years ago.

Former U20 international forward Kadeem Pantophlet (201-90, currently plays college basketball in the States) couldn't help the Duquesne in their game against the The Pennsylvania State University (0-1) in the NCAA. He recorded 9 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. But the Duquesne was defeated 84-74 in University Park, PA by the The Pennsylvania State University. Pantophlet has averaged so far 7.0ppg, 4.8rpg and 1.8apg. He used to play for the Dutch U20 national team four years ago.

   #8. Center Jito Kok (206-94, currently plays college basketball in the States) faced previously mentioned Thomas van der Mars in the NCAA last game. Kok managed to help University of San Diego to win against the University of Portland (0-1) 61-50. He scored only 4 points and blocked 3 shots. It's Kok's first season with the team. Kok has averaged so far 7.5ppg, 3.9rpg and 1.1spg. He plays currently for the Dutch U18 national team.

U18 international forward Shane Hammink (201-94, currently plays college basketball in the States) contributed to an easy victory against the Houston Baptist University 75-58 in the NCAA in Friday night's game. Hammink scored only 1 points and added 3 passes in 13 minutes. The Louisiana State University has conference record this season. Hammink has averaged so far 7.5ppg, 3.9rpg and 1.1spg in the 15 games. He is a naturalized American. Hammink is also in the roster of the Dutch U18 national team. Strangely he has never played in Holland.

Center Olaf Schaftenaar (206-93, currently plays college basketball in the States) contributed to an easy victory against the University of Texas-Pan American crushing them 84-59 in the NCAA last Monday. Schaftenaar scored only 3 points. The Oregon State University has conference record this season. Schaftenaar has averaged so far 7.5ppg, 3.9rpg and 1.1spg. He is a former U18 international player as two years ago he still played for the Dutch national team.

   #1. Joey van Zegeren McAdam (208-F-90, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA could not help the Virginia Tech to beat the Brigham Young University (1-0). van Zegeren McAdam recorded 7 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 18 minutes. The Virginia Tech was crushed 97-71 on the road by the Brigham Young University. van Zegeren McAdam has averaged so far 7.0ppg, 4.8rpg and 1.8apg in the 12 games he played so far.

   #2. Josh Duinker (210-F/C-89, college: Richmond, currently plays in Spain) contributed to a Caceres Basket's surprising victory against the third-ranked Meridiano Alicante (8-5) 65-64 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) on Friday night. Duinker recorded 6 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 19 minutes. Caceres Basket (5-8) is placed 12th in the LEB Gold. Duinker has averaged so far 8.6ppg, 4.9rpg and 1.1apg in the 13 games. He has a dual citizenship: Australian and Dutch.

   #3. Devon Van Oostrum (190-G-93, currently plays in Spain) is a teammate of previously mentioned Josh Duinker and both played together in the last Spanish LEB Gold game. Van Oostrum helped Caceres Basket edge the third-ranked Meridiano Alicante (8-5) 65-64. He recorded 6 points. Van Oostrum has averaged so far 9.9ppg, 2.7rpg and 2.5apg. He is another player who holds two passports: Dutch and British.

   #4. Kim Tillie (210-F-88, agency: Priority Sports, college: Utah, currently plays in Spain) was not able to help UCAM Murcia (24-6) in their game against Asefa Estudiantes (8-7) in the Spanish ACB. Tillie cannot count Sunday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only 2 points in 4 minutes on the court. his team was crushed 91-68 at home by the much lower-ranked (#7) Asefa Estudiantes. Tillie has averaged so far 7.5ppg, 3.9rpg and 1.1spg in the 15 games. He has both Dutch and French nationalities.

American J.T. Yoho (198-F-93, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) had an amazing evening in the last round for Zwolle and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 11. The 23-year old forward had the game-high 25 points adding nine rebounds for Zwolle in his team's victory, helping them to beat Leeuwarden (#7, 3-8) 87-80. Eredivisie Round 11: Groningen beats Amsterdam in the most crucial game of the week - 3 days ago

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Groningen. First ranked Groningen faced 4th placed Amsterdam. Host Groningen (10-1) smashed guests from Amsterdam (5-6) 91-65. The game was mostly controlled by Groningen. Amsterdam managed to win second period 16-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Prom.Divisie Round 9: Lions hand first loss to Grasshoppers - 5 days ago

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Grasshoppers (8-1) in Katwijk on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by second ranked Lions (7-2) 90-80. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Grasshoppers. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league.
