Samme Givens
-year old forward Samme Givens (195-F) put on an amazing game in the last round for Leeuwarden and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 17.
He had the game-high 29 points adding seven rebounds and four assists for Leeuwarden in his team's victory, helping them to crush Rotterdam (#10, 1-18) with 23-point margin 103-80. Leeuwarden maintains the 5th position in Dutch league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Leeuwarden will need more victories to improve their 11-8 record. In the team's last game Givens had a remarkable 91.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be Leeuwarden's top player in his first season with the team. Drexel University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Givens is in league's top in points (4th best: 16.9ppg), rebounds (7th best: 7.1rpg) and averages solid 66.8% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Kenneth van Kempen (208-C-87, agency: Court Side) of Weert. He is former international center in his 3rd season at Weert. In the last game van Kempen recorded impressive double-double of 25 points and 14 rebounds. Bad luck as Weert lost that game 87-92 to the higher-ranked Den Bosch (#1, 17-3). Weert is still second from the bottom in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 6-13 record. van Kempen is one of the most experienced players at Weert and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Andre Young (175-G-90) of league's leader Den Bosch. Young scored 20 points and passed nine assists. He was a key player of Den Bosch, leading his team to a 90-62 easy win against the lower-ranked Zwolle (#7, 10-10). Den Bosch confirms their top position in the standings Young has a great season in Holland. After 20 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 7.0apg (2nd best). He also has 2.3spg and FGP: 55.8%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Cameron Echols (203-F/C-81) of Rotterdam - 28 points and 9 rebounds
5. Nick Oudendag (210-C/F-87) of M.Magixx - 27 points and 12 rebounds
6. Craig Osaikhwuwuomwan (211-F-90) of Leeuwarden - 22 points and 7 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
