Den Bosch will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. M.Magixx will play at home against Groningen (#3) in Groningen and it may be a tough game between close rivals. The game in Den Helder was also worth to mention about. 5th ranked Leeuwarden (11-9) played at the court of sixth ranked Den Helder K. (11-9). Den Helder K. defeated Leeuwarden 65-52. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Leeuwarden. American guard Mark Hill (180-87, college: CS Northridge, agency: Three Eye Sports) notched 20 points to lead the effort and Ousman Krubally supported him with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Even 8 points and 8 rebounds by American forward Samme Givens (195, college: Drexel) did not help to save the game for Leeuwarden. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Den Helder K. moved-up to fifth place, which they share with defeated Leeuwarden. Den Helder K. will play against higher ranked Groningen (#3) in Groningen in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Leeuwarden will play at home against the league's second-placed Leiden and hopes to get back on the winning track.
There were no shocking results in the other games in round 18: Groningen won against Amsterdam on the opponent's court 77-60. Zwolle unfortunately lost to Weert in a home game 67-77. Leiden managed to beat Rotterdam on the road 82-70.
Very expected game when 9th ranked Amsterdam (2-18) was defeated at home by third ranked Groningen (13-7) 77-60. Amsterdam was ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 43-25 second half run of Groningen. Groningen maintains third position with 13-7 record having six points less than leader Den Bosch. Amsterdam will play against Zwolle and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when eighth ranked Weert (7-13) defeated on the road 7th ranked Zwolle (10-11) 77-67. Weert made 17-of-22 charity shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Power forward Kenrick Zondervan (206-85, college: Cent.Florida, agency: Court Side) added 11 points and 11 rebounds. Weert maintains eighth position with 7-13 record. Zwolle at the other side keeps the seventh place with 11 games lost. Weert will play against higher ranked Den Helder K. (#6) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
