Eredivisie round 21 caused change at the leadership position. Fifth defeat of league's leader Leiden (18-5) against ninth ranked Amsterdam (3-20) 72-69 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Leiden. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 13-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 72-69. It was a good game for forward Pascal Balm (200-84) who led his team to a victory with 16 points and 6 rebounds. The former international guard Jeremy Ormskerk (190-82, agency: Court Side) contributed with 16 points and 5 assists for the winners. Canadian forward Ross Bekkering (203-87) answered with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for Leiden. Amsterdam maintains ninth place with 3-20 record. Leiden at the other side dropped to the second position with five games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Den Bosch. Leiden will play next round against M.Magixx trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Amsterdam will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked Rotterdam on the road.

The former international forward Stefan Wessels (203-84, agency: R.H.Consultancy) stepped up and scored 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and Matt Bauscher chipped in 14 points and 5 assists. Den Bosch's coach Raoul Korner allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was the former international center Jeroen van der List (213-89, college: Indian Hills CC, agency: Court Side) with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Den Helder K. at the other side keeps the seventh place with 12 games lost. Den Helder K. will play next round against strong Zwolle trying to get back on the winning streak. Den Bosch will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Groningen (16-8) against seventh ranked Leeuwarden (12-11) on Saturday night. Visiting Groningen was defeated by Leeuwarden in Leeuwarden 84-74. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Groningen. David Michaels nailed 23 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Jamal Boykin came up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds for Groningen in the defeat. Groningen's coach Ivica Skelin rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Leeuwarden moved-up to fifth place, which they share with M.Magixx. Loser Groningen keeps the third position with eight games lost. Leeuwarden will meet Weert (#8) on the road in the next round. Groningen will have a break next round.

In the last two games of round 21 Rotterdam was beaten by Weert on the road 83-79. M.Magixx lost to Zwolle on its own court 64-80.
The most impressive performance of 21th round was 23 points and 8 assists by Rahmon Fletcher of Weert.



Amsterdam - Leiden 72-69

M.Magixx managed to win second period 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American guard Josh Magette (185-90, college: Al.-Huntsville, agency: Pro One Sports) nailed 15 points and 7 assists for the winning side and his fellow American import guard Zack Novak (193-90, college: Michigan, agency: Priority Sports) accounted for 20 points. Four Zwolle players scored in double figures. The former international center Marcel Aarts (213-83, agency: R.H.Consultancy) came up with 18 points and 8 rebounds and Indian-Canadian forward Robbie Sihota (198-87) added 15 points and 8 rebounds respectively for M.Magixx in the defeat. Zwolle have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place. M.Magixx lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with 11 games lost.
