The most exciting game of round 22 in the Eredivisie took place in Weert. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked Leeuwarden (12-12) to eighth ranked Weert (10-14) 82-79 on Tuesday evening. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 42-38 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Weert made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. Strangely Leeuwarden outrebounded Weert 44-27 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. American point guard Rahmon Fletcher (177-88, college: Green Bay, agency: Court Side) scored 29 points and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international center Kenneth van Kempen (208-87, college: Ohio, agency: Court Side) chipped in 9 points and 16 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American forward Jerrell Williams (203-88, college: La Salle) responded with 23 points and 5 rebounds. Leeuwarden's coach Erik Braal rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Weert maintains eighth position with 10-14 record. Leeuwarden at the other side dropped to the fifth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with M.Magixx. Weert are looking forward to face higher ranked M.Magixx (#5) in Nijmegen in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Leeuwarden will play on the road against Amsterdam and is hoping to win this game.
Second ranked Leiden (19-5) crushed at home 5th ranked M.Magixx (12-12) by 16 points 70-54, which is the biggest margin this round. International Worthy de Jong (194-88, agency: R.H.Consultancy) notched 20 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and Ross Bekkering supported him with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Even a double-double of 17 points and 13 rebounds by Indian-Canadian forward Robbie Sihota (198-87) did not help to save the game for M.Magixx. Leiden maintains second position with 19-5 record having just -1 point less than leader Den Bosch. M.Magixx lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Leeuwarden. Leiden will play against bottom-ranked Rotterdam (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. M.Magixx will play against Weert (#8) and hopes to get back on the winning track.

In the last two games of round 22 Den Helder K. lost to Zwolle on the opponent's court 76-83. Bottom-ranked Rotterdam unfortunately lost to Amsterdam in a home game 71-85.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 41 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds by Zack Novak of Zwolle.



Zwolle - Den Helder K. 83-76

Rather expected game when 7th ranked Den Helder K. (12-13) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Zwolle (14-11) 83-76. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Zwolle made 20-of-25 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Americans were the main players on the court. Guard Zack Novak (193-90, college: Michigan, agency: Priority Sports) notched 41 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) to lead the effort and guard Josh Magette (185-90, college: Al.-Huntsville, agency: Pro One Sports) supported him with 19 points and 4 assists. Even 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his seven free throws) by guard Mark Hill (180-87, college: CS Northridge, agency: Three Eye Sports) did not help to save the game for Den Helder K.. Forward Storm Warren (200-88, college: LSU) added 18 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Four Den Helder K. players scored in double figures. Zwolle have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 14-11 record. Den Helder K. at the other side keeps the seventh place with 13 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

The game between closely ranked teams ended with ninth ranked Amsterdam's (4-20) road victory over bottom-ranked Rotterdam (2-21) 85-71. Rotterdam was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 41-25 second half run of Amsterdam. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Center Berend Weijs (208, college: Maryland) notched a double-double by scoring 16 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and the former international guard Aaron Roye (185-88) supported him with 15 points and 9 assists. Four Amsterdam players scored in double figures. Amsterdam's coach Tyronne Marioneaux allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even a double-double of 18 points and 20 rebounds by American power forward Cameron Echols (203-81, college: Ball St., agency: R.H.Consultancy) did not help to save the game for Rotterdam. Guard Don Rigters (193-92, college: Pensacola JC, agency: R.H.Consultancy) added 13 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Amsterdam maintains ninth position with 4-20 record. Rotterdam at the other side stay dead last with 21 lost games. Amsterdam will play against higher ranked Leeuwarden (#6) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
