Zack Novak
American guard Zack Novak (193-G-90, agency: Priority Sports) put on an amazing game in the last round for Zwolle, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 22.
The 22-year old player was the main contributor (41 points, seven rebounds and two assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Den Helder K. (#7, 12-13) 83-76. Zwolle maintains the 4th position in Dutch Eredivisie. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Zwolle will need more victories to improve their 14-11 record. In the team's last game Novak had a remarkable 72.7% from 2-point range and got six three-pointers out of 12 attempts. He turned to be Zwolle's top player in his first season with the team. Former University of Michigan star has very solid stats this year. Novak is league's best scorer averaging so far 18.9ppg. Novak

The second best player in last round's games was -year old Berend Weijs (208-C) of Amsterdam. Weijs had a very good evening with a double-double of 16 points and 13 rebounds. Of course he lead Amsterdam to another comfortable win 85-71 over slightly lower-ranked Rotterdam (#10, 2-21) being unquestionably team leader. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Amsterdam keeps 9th position. 20 lost games are too many comparing to just four victories Amsterdam managed to get this year. Weijs is a newcomer at Amsterdam and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Cameron Echols (203-F/C-81, agency: R.H.Consultancy) of Rotterdam (#10). Echols scored 18 points and grabbed twenty rebounds (!!!). Despite Echols' great performance Rotterdam lost 71-85 to slightly higher-ranked Amsterdam (#9, 4-20). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Rotterdam can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 2-21 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Too bad for Echols he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Echols has individually a great season in Holland. After 18 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 8.6rpg (4th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Kenneth van Kempen (208-C-87) of Weert - 9 points, 16 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Rahmon Fletcher (177-PG-88) of Weert - 29 points and 4 assists
6. Robbie Sihota (198-F-87) of M.Magixx - 17 points, 13 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Storm Warren (200-F-88) of Den Helder K. - 18 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Worthy de Jong (194-SG-88) of Leiden - 20 points and 9 rebounds
9. Sjors Poels (209-C-86) of Leeuwarden - 11 points and 10 rebounds
10. Mark Hill (180-G-87) of Den Helder K. - 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
