Fourth-ranked Leeuwarden (15-13) gave a tough game to third ranked Groningen (19-9) on Tuesday. Groningen managed to secure only three-point victory 90-87. However their fans expected easier game. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Leeuwarden. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-13. But Leeuwarden won second period 26-25. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Groningen won last quarter 25-23. Groningen outrebounded Leeuwarden 45-33 including 18 on the offensive glass. 24 personal fouls committed by Leeuwarden helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Americans were the main players on the court. Guard Nate Rohnert (197-87, college: Denver) scored 18 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Jamal Boykin (203-87, college: California) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Groningen's coach Ivica Skelin used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Forward Samme Givens (195, college: Drexel) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. Groningen have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 19-9 record having three points less than leader Den Bosch. Leeuwarden at the other side dropped to the fifth place with 13 games lost. Groningen are looking forward to face Weert (#8) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Leeuwarden will play against Zwolle and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Den Bosch will play against Amsterdam (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Weert will play against Groningen in Groningen and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game in Den Helder was also quite interesting. Second ranked Leiden (22-6) played at the court of 6th ranked Den Helder K. (13-15). Leiden managed to secure a 5-point victory 75-70 on Wednesday. The best player for the winners was Michael Schachtner who scored 21 points. Mark Hill produced 26 points for the hosts. Leiden maintains second position with 22-6 record behind leader Den Bosch. Loser Den Helder K. keeps the sixth place with 15 games lost. They share the position with M.Magixx. Leiden will meet M.Magixx (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Den Helder K. will play against Rotterdam and hope to secure a win.

In the last two games of round 26 bottom-ranked Rotterdam lost to Zwolle on the opponent's court 91-105. M.Magixx managed to outperform Amsterdam in a home game 86-79.


Den Bosch - Weert 87-65

Eredivisie top team - Den Bosch (23-4) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eighth ranked Weert (12-15) 87-65. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Weert. Very expected game when 10th ranked Rotterdam (2-25) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Zwolle (15-12) 105-91 on Thursday. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 31-11 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Zwolle made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was guard Josh Magette (185-90, college: Al.-Huntsville, agency: Pro One Sports) who scored 20 points and 7 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field).
