Michael
Schachtner
American Michael Schachtner (206-F-86) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's second-best Leiden and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 27.
The 26-year old forward had the game-high 31 points adding nine rebounds for Leiden in his team's victory, helping them to beat M.Magixx (#7, 13-16) 74-60. Leiden maintains the 2nd position in Dutch Eredivisie. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Leiden will need more victories to improve their 23-6 record. In the team's last game Schachtner had a remarkable four three-pointers out of 8 attempts. He turned to be Leiden's top player in his first season with the team. Michael Schachtner averages this season 14.2ppg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 24-year old American forward Storm Warren (200-F-88) of Den Helder K.. Warren impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 28 points and 12 rebounds. It was enough for Den Helder K. to edge the lower-ranked Rotterdam (#10, 2-26) by 1 point 73-72. Den Helder K.'s 6th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 14-15 record. Warren is a newcomer at Den Helder K. and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Samme Givens (195-F) of Leeuwarden (#4). Givens showcased his all-around game by recording 17 points, ten rebounds and six assists in the last round. He was a key player of Leeuwarden, leading his team to a 96-83 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Zwolle (#5, 15-13). Leeuwarden needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 16 victories and 13 lost games. Givens has a great season in Holland. After 29 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 15.8ppg (7th best) and rebounds with 7.6rpg (7th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Sjors Poels (209-C-86) of Leeuwarden - 16 points and 7 rebounds
5. Dejuan Wright (190-G-88) of Den Bosch - 19 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Robert Holcomb Faye (185-G-84) of Leeuwarden - 15 points, 2 rebounds and 11 assists
7. Darryl Webb (198-F-88) of Zwolle - 13 points and 10 rebounds
8. Kenneth van Kempen (208-C-87) of Weert - 12 points and 11 rebounds
9. Wil Carter (203-F-88) of Den Bosch - 16 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Stefan Wessels (203-F-84) of Den Bosch - 13 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
