Latvian National team overcame Holland in the first friendly game between two sides. The hosts posted a 62:52 win on Saturday. Tomorrow the teams will face each other again.

Elina Babkina (173-G-89, agency: LBM Management) top-scored for the winners with 16 points and Anete Horelika (177-F-87) added 12. Kristine Karklina (175-G-83, agency: Regeneracom Sports) notched 11, while Anda Eibele (170-G-84, agency: Josep and Nicolas) had 9. Aija Brumermane (191-C-86) followed them with 8 points in the winning effort.

Connecticut Sun waived 24-year old Dutch ex-international forward Chatilla Van Grinsven (190-89, college: St.Joseph's).
Van Grinsven just graduated from Saint Joseph's University and it is her first season in pro basketball. Her team won Atlantic 10 Tournament. Van Grinsven received All-Atlantic 10 1st Team award in 2013 at her college time.

Connecticut Sun waived 24-year old Dutch ex-international forward Chatilla Van Grinsven (190-89, college: St.Joseph's). Van Grinsven just graduated from Saint Joseph's University and it is her first season in pro basketball. Her team won Atlantic 10 Tournament. Van Grinsven received All-Atlantic 10 1st Team award in 2013 at her college time. Van Grinsven was also a member of Dutch international program for some years. She played for Dutch Senior National Team in 2010 and previously for U18 National Team between 2007 and 2008. Van Grinsven represented Holland at the European Championships U20 in Serbia two years ago. Her stats at that event were 8 games: 12.6ppg, Reb-3 (11.6rpg), 1.3apg, Blocks-5 (1.4bpg), FGP: 36.0%, 3PT: 33.3%, FT: 70.3%. Van Grinsven has played also in Belgium (BBC Kangoeroes-Boom).
Multi talented forward Loyce Bettonvil (185-F-93) leaves CTO Amsterdam after 3 seasons to join Lekdetec.nl from Bemmel where she will join her older sisters Lyn Bettonvil and Jill Bettonvil. Bettonvil is the first major acquisition for the upcoming season.
Bettonvil started playing basketball in Rosmalen with Black Eagles. In september 2010 she transferred to CTO Amsterdam where she totalled her best season so far [read more]
