Steve
McWhorter
23-year old guard Steve McWhorter (189-G-92, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's best team Zwolle and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 8.
He had the game-high 20 points adding six rebounds and three assists for Zwolle in his team's victory, helping them to crush, the league's bottom-ranked team Weert (#8, 0-7) with 22-point margin 82-60. It allowed Zwolle to consolidate first place in the Dutch league. Zwolle have a solid 6-1 record. In the team's last game McWhorter had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Zwolle's top player in his first season with the team. University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee graduate has very impressive stats this year. McWhorter is in league's top in points (9th best: 14.0ppg) and averages solid 2.7spg.

Second best performed player last round was Dejan Kravic (211-F-90) of Den Bosch. He is Serbian-Canadian forward in his first season at Den Bosch. In the last game Kravic recorded impressive double-double of 23 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as Den Bosch lost that game 71-78 to slightly lower-ranked Leeuwarden (#5, 3-4). This loss caused Den Bosch to drop to 4th position in the standings. His team's 4-3 record is not bad at all. Kravic is a newcomer at Den Bosch and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.8ppg (#1). He also registered 9.8 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to swingman Joe O'Shea (193-G/F-91, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) of Leeuwarden (#5). O'Shea scored 26 points and passed four assists. He was a key player of Leeuwarden, leading his team to a 78-71 win against slightly higher-ranked Den Bosch (#4, 4-3). The chances of Leeuwarden ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 4 games, recording just three victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, O'Shea could help Leeuwarden to bring them higher in the standings. O'Shea has a very solid season. In 7 games in Holland he scored 8.1ppg. He also has FGP: 65.2% and 3PT: 50.0%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Mohamed Kherrazi (200-F-90) of Leiden - 15 points and 10 rebounds
5. Tyson Hinz (201-F-91) of Zwolle - 17 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Worthy de Jong (194-SG-88) of Leiden - 21 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Gerald Robinson (202-PF-84) of Amsterdam - 21 points and 13 rebounds
8. Javier Duren (193-G-93) of Leeuwarden - 13 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists
9. Ricardo Glenn (203-F-90) of Zwolle - 11 points, 13 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Roel Aarts (204-F/C-93) of Weert - 13 points and 9 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Erevidisie Round 3: Leeuwarden lose their first game against Zwolle - 6 hours ago
Eredivisie Regular Season is still in too early stage and there may be still significant changes in the standings. The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Leeuwarden (2-1) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were rolled over by Zwolle (3-0) 81-61. The game was mostly controlled by Zwolle. Leeuwarden managed to win third quarter 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Leeuwarden to just...   [read more]

Oudendag's double-double lands him Player of the Week award - 4 days ago
30-year old center Nick Oudendag (210-C-87) put on an amazing game in the last round for Den Bosch and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 2. He had a double-double of 24 points and 11 rebounds, while his team crushed, the league's bottom-ranked team Weert (#9, 0-2) with 18-point margin 81-63. Den Bosch is placed at 3rd position in Dutch league. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Den Bosch won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anyt...   [read more]
