Eredivisie is at the halfway of the Regular Season and there are still another 14 rounds left.

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Zwolle. Third ranked Zwolle faced second-ranked Leiden. Host Zwolle (10-4) defeated guests from Leiden (9-5) 81-74. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The hosts trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 30-19 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Zwolle looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard J.T. Tiller (188-88, college: Missouri) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists. The other American import center Clayton Vette (202-88, college: Winona St.) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds. The former international center Thomas Koenis (210-89, agency: Court Side) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds for the guests. Zwolle moved-up to second place. Leiden at the other side dropped to the third position with five games lost. Zwolle are looking forward to face Amsterdam (#5) at home in the next round. Leiden will play against the league's leader Groningen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Another exciting game was between seventh ranked Leeuwarden and one of their biggest challengers Amsterdam where Leeuwarden (5-9) won against Amsterdam (6-8) on the road 94-85. American guard Jordan Gregory (188-92, college: Montana) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Denton Koon contributed with 16 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Surinamese Sergio de Randamie (201-84, college: Houston) replied with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for Amsterdam. Leeuwarden moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Rotterdam. Amsterdam at the other side dropped to the fifth position with eight games lost. Leeuwarden will play against bottom-ranked Weert (#8) at home in the next round. Amsterdam will play against the league's second-placed Zwolle and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Loser Rotterdam keeps the sixth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Leeuwarden. Groningen will meet at home Leiden (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Rotterdam will play against Dukes UDB in Den Bosch and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last game of round 14 bottom-ranked Weert was defeated by Dukes UDB in Den Bosch 79-72.

Dukes UDB - Weert 79-72

There was no surprise in Den Bosch where 8th ranked Weert (1-13) was defeated by fourth ranked Dukes UDB (7-7) 79-72 on Tuesday. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 79-72. Dukes UDB forced 21 Weert turnovers. The former international Kees Akerboom (200-83, agency: Court Side) scored 25 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Antwan Scott (188-92, college: Colorado St.) chipped in 21 points, 5 assists and 4 steals during the contest. Guard Jeroen van Vugt (192-91) responded with 22 points and 6 assists and swingman Daan Rosenmuller (193-95) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Weert's coach Radenko Varagic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Dukes UDB maintains fourth position with 7-7 record. Weert lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 13 games lost. Dukes UDB will meet at home Rotterdam (#7) in the next round. Weert will play against Leeuwarden and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Leader Groningen delivered the thirteenth victory on Saturday night. This time they crushed 6th ranked Rotterdam (5-9) 98-58. The game was mostly controlled by Groningen. Rotterdam managed to win fourth quarter 23-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Rotterdam to just 5 points in third quarter. Groningen dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Rotterdam's 32. They outrebounded Rotterdam 48-35 including a 37-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Groningen shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Rotterdam's players.
