The most exciting game of round 14 in the Prom.Divisie took place in Groningen. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of one of their biggest challengers Groningen (7-5) to seventh ranked Leiden 2 (7-7) 67-64 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Groningen. Leiden 2 moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Red Giants. Newly promoted Groningen dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. Leiden 2 is looking forward to face New Stars (#9) in Nieuwegein in the next round. Groningen will play at home against the league's second-placed Lions (#2) and is hoping to win this game.
Bottom-ranked De Hoppers (0-13) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 75-40 loss to seventh ranked De Groene (7-4) in Groningen. De Groene moved-up to fourth place. De Hoppers at the other side still closes the standings with 13 games lost. De Groene will play against league's leader Grasshoppers in Katwijk in the next round and it may be the game of the week. De Hoppers will play at home against Lokomotief (#3) and hope to get finally their first victory.

Rest of the games of round 14 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
CobraNova defeated New Stars in Leidschendam 74-61. Lions beat Black Eagles at home 70-66. Red Giants were destroyed by Lokomotief on the opponent's court 98-69.

De Groene - De Hoppers 75-40

De Groene moved-up to fourth place. De Hoppers at the other side still closes the standings with 13 games lost. De Groene will play against league's leader Grasshoppers in Katwijk in the next round and it may be the game of the week. New Stars - CobraNova 61-74

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Nieuwegein where 8th ranked New Stars (5-7) were defeated by ninth ranked CobraNova (6-8) 74-61. CobraNova moved-up to eighth place. Newly promoted New Stars dropped to the ninth position with seven games lost. CobraNova will play against Punch (#11) in Delft in the next round. New Stars will play on the road against Leiden 2 and hope to get back on the winning track.

Lions - Black Eagles 70-66

No shocking result in a game in Landsmeer where second ranked Lions (11-3) defeated 10th ranked Black Eagles (4-7) 70-66. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Lions maintains second position with 11-3 record having just two point less than leader Grasshoppers. Black Eagles lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with seven games lost. Lions will play against Groningen (#5) on the road in the next round. Black Eagles will play against Red Giants (#7) in Meppel and hope to get back on the winning track.

Rather expected game in Rijswijk where 5th ranked Red Giants (7-7) were rolled over by third ranked Lokomotief (9-4) 98-69. Lokomotief have a solid three-game winning streak.
