The most exciting game of round 16 in the Prom.Divisie took place in Landsmeer. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of much higher ranked Lions (12-4) to fifth ranked Red Giants (9-7) 72-69 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Lions. Red Giants moved-up to fourth place. Lions at the other side keep the second position with four games lost. Red Giants are looking forward to face De Groene (#5) in Groningen in the next round. Lions will play on the road against New Stars in Nieuwegein and are hoping to win this game.
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Rijswijk. First ranked Grasshoppers faced 3rd ranked Lokomotief. Guests from Katwijk (13-1) defeated host Lokomotief (10-5) 102-90. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Lokomotief. Grasshoppers have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 13-1 record. Newly promoted Lokomotief keeps the third place with five games lost. Grasshoppers will play against Black Eagles (#9) in Rosmalen in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Lokomotief will play on the road against CobraNova (#8) in Leidschendam and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Bottom-ranked De Hoppers (0-15) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 79-62 loss to tenth ranked Black Eagles (5-8) in Rosmalen on Saturday evening. Black Eagles moved-up to ninth place. Loser De Hoppers still closes the standings with 15 games lost. Black Eagles will meet league's leader Grasshoppers in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. De Hoppers will have a break next round.
