The most exciting game of round 19 in the Eredivisie took place in Den Bosch. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked Amsterdam (7-12) to fourth ranked Dukes UDB (9-10) 64-62 on Saturday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Amsterdam won third quarter 15-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for American forward Charles Mitchell (203, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Three Eye Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds. His fellow American import swingman Justin Watts (196-90, college: N.Carolina) helped adding 19 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side Max Van-Schaik (210-91, agency: Court Side) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. Dukes UDB maintains fourth place with 9-10 record. Amsterdam lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 12 games lost. Dukes UDB are looking forward to face Leeuwarden (#7) at home in the next round. Amsterdam will play against the league's second-placed Leiden and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
Very important is a road loss of second ranked Zwolle (13-6) against eighth ranked Weert (2-17) on Saturday night. Visiting Zwolle was defeated by Weert in a tough game in Weert 66-74. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Zwolle. It was an exceptional evening for power forward Joost Padberg (202-91) who led the winners and scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Aleek Pauline accounted for 7 points and 7 rebounds. Weert's coach Radenko Varagic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The former international center Nick Oudendag (210-87) came up with 13 points and 6 rebounds for Zwolle in the defeat. Weert maintains eighth place with 2-17 record. Zwolle at the other side keeps the second position with six games lost. They share it with Leiden. Weert will play against league's leader Groningen on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Zwolle will play against Rotterdam and hopes to get back on the winning track.

The game in Rotterdam was also worth to mention about. Third ranked Leiden (13-6) played at the court of 5th ranked Rotterdam (8-11). Leiden managed to secure a 6-point victory 80-74. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Rotterdam. Worth to mention a great performance of Daviyon Draper who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Leiden. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Zwolle. Rotterdam at the other side keeps the fifth position with 11 games lost. Leiden's next round opponent will be Amsterdam (#6) on the road. Rotterdam will play against Zwolle and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Leeuwarden - Groningen 74-84

Eredivisie top team - Groningen (18-1) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat seventh ranked Leeuwarden (6-13) 84-74. The game without a history. Groningen led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Leeuwarden's 44. American forward Chase Fieler (203-92, college: FGCU) fired a double-double by scoring 16 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Croatian power forward Drago Pasalic (208-84, agency: Court Side) chipped in 24 points. American forward Denton Koon (203-92, college: Hofstra, agency: Court Side) produced 22 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import point guard George Marshall (186-92, college: S.Dakota St.) added 19 points and 7 assists respectively for lost side. Four Groningen and five Leeuwarden players scored in double figures. Groningen have an impressive series of thirteen victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 18-1 record.
