Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Dutch players who are currently playing abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international center Thomas van der Mars (208-90, college: Portland, currently plays in Estonia). He led Rapla to an easy victory against one of league's weakest teams BC Rakvere (7-17) crushing them 92-57 in the Estonian Alexela KML on Tuesday night. van der Mars had a double-double by scoring 13 points and getting 11 rebounds in 22 minutes on the court. AVIS Rapla (14-9) is placed third in the Alexela KML. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's van der Mars' first season with the team. He has individually a very good year with high stats. van der Mars averages: 17.1ppg, 13.0rpg, 2FGP: 64.0%(155-242) and FT: 71.6% in 23 games he played so far. He is currently a member of the Dutch senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to former international power forward Josh Duinker (209-89, college: Richmond, currently plays in New Zealand). Duinker was the major contributor in Saints' victory against the league outsider Hawks (0-1) crushing them 107-84 in the New Zealand NBL in Friday night's game. He recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and getting 11 rebounds. Duinker also added 6 assists. It was his first game for Saints this season. His team are placed second in the NBL. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Duinker has a dual citizenship: Dutch and Australian. Former Zorg and Zekerheid Leiden starter played for the Dutch national team in 2013.

   #3. The Dutch player who performed third best last week abroad was an international guard Charlon Kloof (190-90, agency: Octagon Europe, college: St.Bonaventure, currently plays in FYR Macedonia). He led MZT Skopje to an easy victory against the fifth-ranked Feni Industries (0-1) crushing them 86-59 in the FYR Macedonian Prva Liga last Thursday. Kloof recorded 14 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists in 31 minutes. It was his first game for MZT Skopje this season; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his third season in pro basketball. His team is placed third in Places 1-6 group. But the season just started, so everything may happen. Kloof is another player who holds two passports: Surinamese and Dutch. He is also a member of the Dutch senior national team.

Center Jito Kok (206-94, agency: Court Side, college: San Diego, currently plays in Estonia) is a teammate of previously mentioned Thomas van der Mars and both played together in the last Estonian Alexela KML game. Kok contributed to an easy victory against one of league's weakest teams BC Rakvere (7-17) crushing them 92-57. He recorded 8 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Kok's overall stats this season are: 5.3ppg and 3.1rpg. He used to play for the Dutch U20 national team back in 2014.

International guard Yannick Franke (194-96, currently plays in Croatia) contributed to a KK Zadar's victory against the closely-ranked KK Zabok (7-12) 95-81 in the Croatian A1 in Thursday night's game. Franke scored 7 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in only 12 minutes. KK Zadar (9-7) is placed sixth in the A1. This year Franke's overall stats are: 7.2ppg and 3.3rpg in six games. He plays currently for the Dutch national team.

   #6. Power forward Roeland Schaftenaar (211-88, college: Oregon St., currently plays in Greece) helped AGOR win their game against the closely-ranked PAOK (9-9) 73-70 in the Greek A1 last Saturday. Schaftenaar scored 9 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. A.G.O Rethymno Aegean (10-11) is placed seventh in the A1. Schaftenaar's total stats this season are: 5.9ppg and 4.5rpg. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Dutch National Team roster.

Former international center Henk Norel (213-87, currently plays in Spain) helped Zaragoza win their game against one of league's weakest teams Blusens Monbus (6-16) crushing them 85-59 in the Spanish Liga Endesa on Saturday night. Norel scored 9 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 22 minutes. Tecnyconta Zaragoza (8-15) is placed 12th in the Liga Endesa. They ended the series of three consecutive loses. Norel is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fifth year in Zaragoza's roster. This season his total stats are: 9.9ppg, 6.1rpg and 1.2apg in 20 games. Norel used to play for the Dutch national team two years ago.

   #8. Center Nicolas de Jong (210-88, currently plays in France) could not help one of league's weakest teams Chalons-Reims (8-14) in their last game. Despite de Jong's good performance Chalons-Reims lost 73-86 on the road to the higher-ranked (#13) JDA Dijon. He recorded 10 points in only 12 minutes. de Jong has relatively good stats this year: 12.0ppg and 2.7rpg in 20 games. He plays currently for the Dutch national team.

International shooting guard Worthy de Jong (194-88, currently plays in France) was not able to help one of league's weakest teams one of league's weakest teams SO Maritime Boulogne in their game against Saint-Quentin (9-13) in the French ProB (second division). de Jong recorded 6 points and had 4 steals. SO Maritime Boulogne was crushed 81-56 on the opponent's court by the higher-ranked Saint-Quentin (#16). de Jong has averaged so far 9.6ppg, 3.2rpg, 2.0apg and 1.8spg. He is also in the roster of the Dutch national team.

   #10. Point guard Leon Williams (189-91, currently plays in Germany) was not able to secure a victory for BG Goettingen (18-3) in their game against BBC Bayreuth (17-6) in the German BBL. Williams recorded 6 points and added 3 assists in 24 minutes. BG Goettingen was crushed 101-66 in Bayreuth by the lower-ranked (#4) BBC Bayreuth. Williams has averaged so far 5.5ppg, 1.7rpg and 2.4apg in 23 games. He is a former international player as two years ago he still played for the Dutch senior national team.

   #11. Former international center Kevin Bleeker (208-93, also represented by Court Side, college: Canisius, currently plays in Spain) helped Navarra win their game against the 13th-ranked CB Tarragona 2017 85-79 in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division) last Friday. Bleeker scored 9 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Bleeker has averaged so far 6.2ppg and 4.7rpg. He used to play for the Dutch national team three years ago.

   #12. Former U16 international forward Kevin van Wijk (203-89, college: Valparaiso, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help Melilla Baloncesto in their game against Lleida Basquet in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division). van Wijk scored 8 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in only 12 minutes. His team lost 82-87. van Wijk has averaged so far 6.3ppg, 3.6rpg and 1.2apg in 27 games. He used to play for the Dutch U16 national team back in 2005.

   #13. Former U20 international center Menno Dijkstra (213-97, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA couldn't help the Cal-Riverside (5-11) in their last game on Thursday. Despite Dijkstra's good performance the Cal-Riverside was defeated 76-67 at home by the University of California-Irvine. He scored 10 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Dijkstra has averaged so far 6.2ppg and 2.8rpg. He used to play for the Dutch U20 national team two years ago.

   #14. Former U16 international guard Stefan Topalovic (193-95, currently plays in Germany) couldn't help Aschersleben in their game against ALBA Berlin II in the German Regionalliga (fourth division). He scored only 4 points in 11 minutes. His team lost 79-84. This year Topalovic averages just 1.8ppg in six games. He used to play for the Dutch U16 national team back in 2011.


The list of other players, who all have Dutch passport but never been selected to any of Dutch national teams:

   #1. Kim Tillie (210-PF-88, college: Utah, currently plays in Euroleague) led his Spanish team Baskonia to a 1-point victory against the second-ranked CSKA (19-7) 79-78 in the Euroleague in Friday night's game. He scored 11 points in a mere 16 minutes. Baskonia Vitoria Gasteiz (15-11) is placed seventh in the Euroleague. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. There are only four games left until the end of the Euroleague Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This year Tillie averages: 6.6ppg, 3.7rpg and 1.1apg in 25 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Dutch and French.

   #2. Aaron Doornekamp (201-F-85, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in Spain) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Movil Estudiantes (17-5) 82-63 in the Spanish Liga Endesa last Sunday. Doornekamp scored 8 points. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Iberostar Tenerife CB Canarias (18-5) is placed first in the Liga Endesa. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. It's Doornekamp's first season with the team. He has relatively good stats this year: 12.3ppg, 4.0rpg and 1.2apg. Doornekamp is another player who holds two passports: Canadian and Dutch.

   #3. Ryan Broekhoff (200-F-90, college: Valparaiso, currently plays in EuroCup). He could not help Lokomotiv (5-1) to beat Unicaja Malaga (3-3). Broekhoff cannot count Friday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only 3 points. The league leader Lokomotiv was defeated 74-63 on the road by the second-ranked Unicaja Malaga. Broekhoff has averaged so far 5.9ppg, 4.8rpg and 1.1apg. He has both Australian and Dutch nationalities.

   #4. Tom Slutsky (193-G-92, currently plays in Israel) contributed to an easy victory against one of league's weakest teams Hasharon (4-19) crushing them 87-64 in the Israeli National League (second division) last Tuesday. Slutsky scored 6 points and added 3 assists in 16 minutes. Hapoel Afula (11-12) is placed ninth in the National League. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. This year Slutsky averages only 3.8ppg in 23 games. He also holds two passports: Dutch and Israeli. Despite Slutsky's Dutch nationality, he previously played for the Israeli U18 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Dutch team.

   #5. Derrik Smits (218-C-95, currently plays college basketball in the States) was not able to help the one of league's weakest teams Valparaiso in their game against the University of Illinois (14-4) in the NCAA National Tournament Round 1. Smits recorded only 4 points. The Valparaiso was crushed 82-57 at home by the University of Illinois. The National Tournament Round 1 already ended in the NCAA. Smits has averaged so far 3.4ppg and 2.2rpg.

   #6. Morgan Stilma (199-F, currently plays in Spain) was not able to secure a victory for Unicaja B (5-6) in their last game. Despite his good performance the sixth-placed Unicaja B lost 68-81 on the opponent's court to the higher-ranked (#3) Utrera in the Group D Perman. Stilma scored 10 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 16 minutes. Stilma has averaged so far 9.9ppg and 4.3rpg in 15 games.

   #7. Chrid Burger (185-G-89, currently plays in Norway) couldn't help Nidaros Jets in their game against Baerum Basket in the Norwegian BLNO. He recorded 8 points. His team was defeated 96-82. Burger has averaged so far 5.5ppg and 2.7rpg.

   #8. Tim Hilhorst (87, currently plays in Norway) managed to help Centrum Tigers Oslo in a victory against the closely-ranked Froya Basket crushing them 94-68 in the Norwegian BLNO on Sunday night. He recorded only 4 points in 14 minutes. Hilhorst has averaged so far 6.2ppg and 3.9rpg in 23 games.

   #9. Maikel-Bastiaan Post (207-C-85, currently plays in Germany) contributed to Ibbenbueren's victory against the fourth-ranked Grevenbroich 105-100 in the German Regionalliga (fourth division) in Saturday night's game. He scored 7 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Post has averaged so far 9.0ppg and 5.0rpg.

Round 4 means everything may happen in Eredivisie as the season just started. The game had a very big importance for fourth-ranked Zwolle as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Zwolle defeated much higher ranked Den Bosch at home 72-65. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Den Bosch.
