Here is the weekly review of the top performing Dutch players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international guard Charlon Kloof (190-90, agency: Octagon Europe, college: St.Bonaventure, currently plays in FYR Macedonia). Kloof led MZT Skopje to a 2-point victory over the second-ranked Karpos Sokoli (4-1) 87-85 in a derby game in the FYR Macedonian Prva Liga on Saturday night. He was MVP of the game. Kloof had a double-double by scoring 16 points and making 10 passes. He also added 9 rebounds and 3 blocks in 38 minutes on the court; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Kloof's third season in pro basketball. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group Places 1-6. KK MZT Skopje Aerodrom (5-0) is placed first. So far his team won all five games in the Second Stage. It's Kloof's first year with the team. This season he averages: 10.0ppg, 4.8rpg, 4.6apg, 1.2spg, 2FGP: 53.8%, 3FGP: 19.0% and FT: 66.7% in five games he played so far. Kloof has a dual citizenship: Surinamese and Dutch. He is currently a member of the Dutch senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to former international power forward Josh Duinker (209-89, college: Richmond, currently plays in New Zealand). Duinker was the major contributor in Saints' victory against the closely-ranked Mountain Airs (3-3) 100-87 in the New Zealand NBL in Thursday night's game. He recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and getting 12 rebounds. Duinker also added 3 assists. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Wellington Saints (5-0) are placed first in the NBL. So far his team won all five games in the Regular Season. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Duinker has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 15.8ppg, 8.0rpg, 2.6apg, 2FGP: 57.1%(28-49), 3FGP: 33.3% and FT: 87.0%. Duinker is another player who holds two passports: Dutch and Australian. Former Zorg and Zekerheid Leiden starter played for the Dutch national team in 2013.

The Dutch player who performed third best last week abroad was an international center Thomas van der Mars (208-90, college: Portland, currently plays in Estonia). van der Mars led Rapla to a victory against the closely-ranked TTU (16-16) 89-83 in the Estonian Alexela KML on Sunday night. He recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and getting 11 rebounds. AVIS Rapla (20-12) is placed second in the Alexela KML. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's van der Mars' first season with the team. This year van der Mars has very high stats. He averages: 16.4ppg, 12.4rpg, 2FGP: 64.0%(176-275) and FT: 70.8%. van der Mars is also a member of the Dutch senior national team.

   #4. Power forward Roeland Schaftenaar (211-88, college: Oregon St., currently plays in Greece) contributed to AGOR's victory against the 11th-ranked Koroivos (7-17) 78-67 in the Greek A1 in Saturday night's game. He scored 11 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 21 minutes. A.G.O Rethymno Aegean (12-12) is placed sixth in the A1. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. This year Schaftenaar's overall stats are: 6.2ppg and 4.2rpg in 13 games. He is also Dutch national team player.

   #5. International center Nicolas de Jong (210-88, currently plays in France) could not help Chalons-Reims (9-16) in their last game on Friday. Despite de Jong's very good performance Chalons-Reims was crushed 79-58 at home by the much higher-ranked Strasbourg IG (#6). He was the top scorer with 15 points. de Jong also added 5 rebounds. de Jong has relatively good stats this season: 12.4ppg and 3.0rpg. He plays currently for the Dutch national team.

Center Jito Kok (206-94, agency: Court Side, college: San Diego, currently plays in Estonia) is a teammate of previously mentioned Thomas van der Mars and both played together in the last Estonian Alexela KML game. Kok contributed to Rapla's victory against the closely-ranked TTU (16-16) 89-83. He scored 9 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 18 minutes. This year Kok's total stats are: 5.2ppg and 3.0rpg in 11 games. He is a former U20 international player as he played for the Dutch team three years ago.

   #7. International shooting guard Worthy de Jong (194-88, currently plays in France) was not able to help SO Maritime Boulogne (10-17) in their last game on Friday. Despite de Jong's very good performance SO Maritime Boulogne was defeated 86-76 on the road by the much higher-ranked ALM Evreux (#5). He was the second best scorer with 15 points. de Jong has averaged so far 9.5ppg, 3.0rpg, 1.9apg and 1.6spg. He is also Dutch national team player.

   #8. Center Henk Norel (213-87, currently plays in Spain) was not able to secure a victory for Zaragoza (8-18) in their last game. Despite Norel's good performance Zaragoza lost 54-65 in Tenerife to the leading CB Canarias. He was the second best scorer with 10 points. Norel also added 7 rebounds in 27 minutes. It was Zaragoza's third consecutive loss in a row. Norel is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fifth year in Zaragoza's roster. He has averaged so far 9.4ppg, 6.1rpg and 1.2apg in 23 games. Norel used to play for the Dutch national team back in 2015.

   #9. Former international power forward Jeroen van der List (213-89, college: Indian Hills CC, currently plays in Japan) couldn't help Shinshu BW (12-39) in their last game on Saturday. Despite his good performance the sixth-placed Shinshu BW (12-39) was badly defeated 86-70 on their home court in Nagano by the higher-ranked Bambitious Nara (#4) in the Central group. van der List was the top scorer with 13 points. He also added 5 rebounds and made 3 blocks. This season van der List has relatively solid stats: 14.7ppg, 8.9rpg, 1.4apg and 1.6bpg. He used to play for the Dutch national team three years ago.

   #10. Center Kevin Bleeker (208-93, also represented by Court Side, college: Canisius, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help Navarra (14-13) in their game against Cambados (20-7) in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division). Bleeker scored 6 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 16 minutes. Navarra was badly defeated 93-74 on their home court in Pamplona by the second-ranked Cambados. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. Bleeker has averaged so far 6.3ppg and 4.8rpg in 27 games. He is a former international player as three years ago he still played for the Dutch senior national team.

   #11. Former international center Kenneth van Kempen (207-87, another player represented by Court Side, college: Ohio, currently plays in Belgium) contributed to a 2-point Soba's victory against the second-ranked Gent Hawks 78-76 in the Belgian Top Division I (second division) last Saturday. He scored 16 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 36 minutes. van Kempen has averaged so far 10.0ppg, 5.8rpg and 2.5apg in 25 games. He used to play for the Dutch national team six years ago.

   #12. Former international power forward Patrick Hilliman (206-82, college: High Point, currently plays in Belgium) led Melsele to a victory over the closely-ranked Ninane crushing them 84-63 in the Belgian Top Division I (second division) on Friday night. Hilliman was the best player in that game. He scored 26 points (!!!) and grabbed 8 rebounds. This season Hilliman has very high stats. He averages: 16.4ppg, 9.5rpg and 1.2spg. Hilliman used to play for the Dutch national team back in 2010.


The list of other players, who all have Dutch passport but never been selected to any of Dutch national teams:

   #1. Kim Tillie (210-PF-88, college: Utah, currently plays in Euroleague) led his Spanish team Baskonia to a victory over the 12th-ranked Galatasaray (11-19) crushing them 103-80 in the Euroleague in Friday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Tillie scored 20 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 24 minutes. Baskonia Vitoria Gasteiz (17-13) is placed seventh in the Euroleague. His team will play only one more game in the Euroleague Regular Season. And that game will be critical. This year Tillie averages: 7.2ppg, 3.7rpg and 1.1apg in 29 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Dutch and French.

   #2. Aaron Doornekamp (201-F-85, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in Spain) was the major contributor in an CB Canarias' victory against one of league's weakest teams Zaragoza (8-18) 65-54 in the Spanish Liga Endesa last Sunday. Doornekamp scored 13 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Iberostar Tenerife CB Canarias (19-7) is placed first in the Liga Endesa. Doornekamp has relatively good stats this season: 12.0ppg, 4.0rpg and 1.3apg. He is another player who holds two passports: Canadian and Dutch.

   #3. Ryan Broekhoff (200-F-90, college: Valparaiso, currently plays in VTB United League) contributed to an easy victory against the tenth-ranked Avtodor (6-14) 79-61 in the VTB United League last Monday. He scored 7 points, had 5 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 19 minutes. Lokomotiv Kuban (14-5) is placed fourth in the VTB United League. It was his team's first victory after three consecutive loses. There are only four games left until the end of the VTB United League Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. This year Broekhoff's overall stats are: 7.0ppg, 5.2rpg and 1.1apg in 19 games. He has both Australian and Dutch nationalities.

   #4. Morgan Stilma (199-F, currently plays in Spain) contributed to a 2-point Unicaja B's victory against the fifth-ranked San Fernando (8-6) 82-80 in the Spanish EBA (fourth division) last Saturday. Stilma scored 8 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Unicaja B Malaga (8-6) is placed fourth in Group D Perman. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. The Regular Season already ended. Stilma has reliable stats this season: 10.1ppg and 4.9rpg.

   #5. Maikel-Bastiaan Post (207-C-85, currently plays in Germany) contributed to an easy victory against the tenth-ranked Hertener Loewen (12-14) crushing them 95-73 in the German Regionalliga (fourth division) on Saturday night. He scored 12 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 30 minutes. TVI Basketball SWAP Ballers Ibbenbueren (15-11) is placed fifth in West group. The Regular Season already ended. Post has averaged so far 9.3ppg and 5.1rpg in 25 games.

   #6. Jamal Smith (197-F-92, college: Chattanooga St, currently plays in Belgium). He could not help Houthalen to beat Royal Brussels. Smith scored 8 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. His team was defeated 78-65. Smith has averaged so far 9.1ppg, 4.1rpg, 1.2apg and 1.2spg. He is a naturalized American. Smith used to play for The Bright Kings Den Helder in Dutch league.

Round 4 means everything may happen in Eredivisie as the season just started. The game had a very big importance for fourth-ranked Zwolle as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Zwolle defeated much higher ranked Den Bosch at home 72-65. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Den Bosch.
