After a fantastic rookie season in Hungary that saw him capture the championship, Jara Doyne (193-G/F-84, college: Mississippi, agency: Basketball Beyond Borders) fell on hard times with an injury last season in Hungary. In the world of sport the 'what have you done lately' mindset has caused many to doubt his ability. Bam will embrace his new team NYKK tomorrow and try to help the team in the game against ZTE KK. The 193 cm tall guard graduated on OleMiss in 2007 and signed his first pro contract with Falco KC in our country. He played 26 games for the team averaging 20.8ppg, 4.2rpg, 3.0 spg and 2.4apg and helped Falco KC to win the club's first championship ever. In summer 2008 he signed with an other top team in our country and was the member of the CEBL champion team Albacomp last season. He had an injury during the regular season and missed some games but got back to the team and played 24 games averaging 12.6ppg, 3.6rpg, 2.0apg, 1.5spg.
American big man, Jonathan Jones (211-C-79, agency: Gross Zeev ISA) decided to leave the team of Dombovar as he got a chance to play in Korea again! Jones was the leading scorer and rebounder of the league averaging a double-double with 24.6 points and 11.1 rebounds per game. The management of the team was looking for a replacement and invited Dustin Villepigue (206-F-83, college: UNLV) for a tryout! American big man, Jonathan Jones (211-C-79, agency: Gross Zeev ISA) decided to leave the team of Dombovar as he got a chance to play in Korea again! Jones was the leading scorer and rebounder of the league averaging a double-double with 24.6 points and 11.1 rebounds per game. The management of the team was looking for a replacement and invited Dustin Villepigue (206-F-83, college: UNLV) for a tryout! The 206 cm tall big man graduated on UNLV in 2006 and averaged 6.1 points and 5.0 rebounds per game as a senior. He signed his first pro-deal with Maccabi Tel-Aviv in Israel but got traded to Maccabbi Rishon. In 2008 he played together with Jerome Lagrange for for KK Leotar in Bosnia and had a great season with 14.9ppg, 8.7rpg, 1.4apg, 1.4spg. Villepigue started the last season in Mexico with Bucaneros de Campeche and played 43 games: 12.9ppg, 7.8rpg, 1.6apg, 1.9spg. In February he signed with BK Prostejov in Czech Republic and spent the rest of the season with the team.
The coaching staff of the team invited also Paul Graham (196-G-85, agency: ZAG Advocates, college: Florida Atlantic) on a tryout. Graham arrived some weeks ago in Hungary and spent two weeks with the team of MJUS-Fortress Kormend. The management of the club decided not to keep him on the roster, so Dombovar used the chance and got him on the team.
Falco KC Szombathely signed a one-year deal including two weeks tryout with american forward Marcel Jones (203-F-85, college: Oregon St.). The 203 cm tall player just arrived this morning to the city of Szombathely and might be able to play in the 'El Classico' against the team of Krmend on saturday. The forward graduated on the University of Oregon State in 2008 and was an NBA draft candidate already after his senior season, but withdraw his name from the list. Last season he played 16 games for McDonalds Manawatu Jets in New Zealand and had an amazing season averaging 27.3 points and 9.8 rebounds per game. He signed this summer with Phoenix Hagen in Germany, but left the team during the regular season and moved to Finland to play for Karhu Kauhajoen. He was a key player of the team averaging 17.9 points and 8.3 rebounds per game.
The management of ASE was looking for a center and signed a one-year contract with american big man, Martin Kevin (208-C-83, college: Florida Gulf Coast). The 208 cm tall center has already european experiences as he played already in Germany, Austria and Portugal. He spent the last season with Porto averaging 14.8 points and 9.6 rebounds per game. In July 2009 he got drafted to the KBL and signed with Daegu Orions. As the second american on the roster - only one can be on the court - he did not get enough time on the court, however he had 7.3 points and 3.6 rebounds in only 10.2 minutes per game. He played his best game on the 13th of November 2009, when he was close to a double-double with 19 points and 9 rebounds in only 18 minutes.

ZTE KK continues with great performance this season. Yesterday, ZTE was too strong for Debreceni on the road keeping the perfect score after 7 rounds. Atomeromu also jumped to 7-0 this week-end so these two teams stay on top together. Salgotarjani - PVSK Pannon 57-104 PVSK cruised past the winless Salgotarjani in style registering huge 57-104 victory. Srdan Helbich (205-F/C-76) stepped up for the guests with 22 points and 6 rebounds, while Ronnie Ross (187-G-79, college: Utah St.) followed him netting 14 pts. In the loosing squad, Rickey Huckaby scored 18 pts. PVSK 4-3, Salgotarjani 0-7.
Atomeromu - Soproni 86-76 The guests were very close to make a big surprise for 30 minutes, but in the last quarter the home team could decide the game and stay on the top of the league. American guard, Michael English could not help his team because of his injury, but coach Dzunic found the players to replace him for this game: Zsolt Kiss made 6 of his 8 threes (18 points), Akos Horvath helped his team with 16 points, but Mate Medve scored also 11 points. Anthony Dill (200-F-81, college: Texas St.-San Marcos) top-scored in this victory with 20 points. Kormend - Dombovar 88-71 The home team could use Aliakseyeu's services, who just got fit from his injury two days ago and started the game very well: 30-14 after 10 minutes. The team of coach Sabali played a very hard and good working defense, so the American big men of Dombovar, Walker and Jones could not shine as in their games before. In the third quarter the guests lead by Lagrange could get closer Kormend was up only by 7 points but than they found the rhythm again and made very important baskets. Six players of the home team could score in doubled digit. Rumors say, that this game was Jonathan Jones goodbye game with Dombovar, as the American big man might be leaving our country next week to play in Korea again. Marso-Vagep - Albacomp 62-84 It was a tied game for 30 minutes, but the guests started to play a zone defensive in the last quarter which destroyed the home team and could only score 6 points in 10 minutes. David Toya (200-G/F-76) was the best scorer in victory with 18. Balazs Simon (188-G-80, agency: Court Side) and Valibor Radovic added 15 pts each. In defeat, Donte Gennie scored 26 points. Kecskemeti - Szolnok 95-85 In a TV-game, the home team found the rhythm during the second half beating Szolnok by 10 points. Player of the game was Anthony Dale (197-G/F-84, college: S.Illinois), who was close to a triple-double with 26 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Zlatko Bolic (195-G-74, agency: Beo Basket) also had very important role in this victory netting 21 pts and grabbing 6 boards. Kaposvari - Falco 106-92 In an overtime thriller the home team, lead by domestic players Vojvoda and Hendlein celebrated against Falco KC Szombathely. Six seconds before the end of the 4th quarter the referees called a foul on Kazlauskas, but he made only two of his three free throws. In the last 5 minutes Kaposvari had an amazing run and got the second win in this season. David Vojvoda (191-G/F-90, agency: Laszlo Vinko Services) shined with 35 points and 5 rebounds, while Roland Hendlein (205-F-86) had 24 pts and 9 rebs. Larry Welton added 23 points and 12 rebounds.
