Round 18 in A Division means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Paks where host Atomeromu (11-7) crushed league's leader Kormend (15-3) 85-64 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Kormend. The game without a history. Atomeromu led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The best player for the winners was American guard Lorenzo Williams (191-G-84, agency: Court Side, college: Rice) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 assists. International swingman David Vojvoda (191-90, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Darian Townes (208-84) who recorded 19 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Atomeromu moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Kecskemeti. Kormend at the other side dropped to the second position with three games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Falco-Szova. Kormend will play next round against strong Albacomp trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Atomeromu will try to continue on its current victory against twelfth ranked Jaszberenyi on the road.

Visiting Albacomp was defeated by Kecskemeti in a tough game in Kecskemet 75-80. It was a good game for Serbian swingman Marko Derasimovic (200-84) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds. Krisztian Wittmann contributed with 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American forward Damian Hollis (203-88, college: G.Washington) replied with 21 points and 7 rebounds for Albacomp. Albacomp's coach Branislav Dzunic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kecskemeti have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 11-7 record, which they share with Atomeromu. Albacomp lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth place with four games lost. Kecskemeti will play against FS Debrecen (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Albacomp will play against the league's second-placed Kormend (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game with biggest result difference took place in Kecskemet. Local Kecskemeti (11-7) outscored 8th ranked Kaposvari (7-11) 100-55 on Friday night. Marko Derasimovic scored 23 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners. The best for the losing side was Michael Fey with 15 points and 8 rebounds. Kaposvari's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Kecskemeti have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 11-7 record, which they share with Atomeromu. Loser Kaposvari dropped to the ninth place with 11 games lost. Kecskemeti will meet FS Debrecen (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kaposvari will play against ZTE KK (#14) in Zalaegerszeg and hope to secure a win.

Rest of the games of round 18 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Szedeak was defeated by Soproni in a road game 85-67. Bottom-ranked ZTE KK was beaten by Jaszberenyi at home 88-96. Kaposvari lost to PVSK Pannon on the opponent's court 78-83. Marso NYKK was outscored by Szolnok in a home game 71-104.


Soproni - Szedeak 85-67
There was no surprise when 11th ranked Szedeak (5-13) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Soproni (8-10) 85-67 on Saturday. The game without a history. Soproni led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Soproni outrebounded Szedeak 42-24 including 18 on the offensive glass. American guard Dontay Thomas (186-84, college: La Salle) scored 26 points and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Janou Rubin (193-82, college: UCLA) chipped in 21 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Four Soproni players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Jonathan Levy (193-82, college: CS San Bernar.) with 20 points and 5 rebounds and Serbian power forward Nebojsa Dukic (206-85) scored 14 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Soproni have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place. Szedeak lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh position with 13 games lost. They share it with Jaszberenyi. Soproni will meet higher ranked Szolnok (#3) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Szedeak will play against the league's leader Falco-Szova (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.

Csaba Ferencz decided to stay in Kormend - May 28, 2016

Yesterday, just couple of minutes before the Game 4 of the semifinals the management of EGIS Kormend published, that team captain Csaba Ferencz(194-SF-85) signed with the team also for the coming season. The 194 cm tall, 31 years old wingman played all his carreer in his hometown, he started his pro carreer already in 2002.
