Second games of the Playoff Semifinals in Hungary were played last night. Szolnok smashed Albacomp 100-74 for 2-0 lead in the series. The format is best-of-five, so Szolnok is just one win away from the Finals. Also last night, Kormend was better than Falco-Szova. It was a 67-57 victory for the home squad and score is tied at 1-1 now. Third games are scheduled for Thursday. Albacomp and Falco will be the hosts. Falco was the regular season champion, while Szolnok is the defending champ from the last season.

Kormend - Falco-Szova 67-57 (1-1)
The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 67-57. Kormend dominated on the defensive end, holding Falco-Szova to just 7 points in second quarter. 24 personal fouls committed by Falco-Szova helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American forward Rashad Bell (201-82, college: Boston U.) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. The former international guard Csaba Ferencz (194-85, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. International forward Zsolt Szabo (202-86, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) produced 14 points and 7 rebounds and American guard Chad Timberlake (194-84, college: Fair Dickinson) added 14 points respectively for the guests.

Szolnok - Albacomp 100-74 (2-0)
The game was mostly controlled by Szolnok. Albacomp was better in second period 25-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 17-of-19 charity shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Szolnok outrebounded Albacomp 35-24 including a 28-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three nailing 17 long-distance shots on high 56.7 percentage. Szolnok players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. International point guard Obie Trotter (186-84, college: Alabama A&M, agency: Court Side) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points and 8 assists (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). American forward Brandon Gay (203-82, college: San Diego, agency: Edge Sports) contributed with 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Five Szolnok players scored in double figures. American forward Damian Hollis (203-88, college: G.Washington, agency: Two Points) replied with 21 points and 6 rebounds and his fellow American import swingman Muhammad El Amin (196-87, college: Stony Brook, agency: Two Points) added 26 points in the effort for Albacomp. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
