U16 CZECH REPUBLIC - U16 HUNGARY 60-54

Czech Republic outplayed Hungary today 60-54 in the first game of the Classification Round from 5th to 8th place at U16 EuroBasket in Miskolc. Tomorrow, Czech Republic will play against France for the fifth place. Hungary will meet Slovakia for position No.7. Gabriela Andelova (191-PG-96) led the winners with 12 points and 6 rebounds. Hana Vesela (190-C-96) had 12 points and 10 rebs, and Klara Krivankova (183-F-96) followed her with 9 pts and same number of board. In defeat, Bernadett Horvath (168-PG-96) delivered 17 points and Debora Dubei (180-SF-97) had 15 pts and 7 rebounds. Agnes Dobos (190-C-96) and Fruzsina Weber (181-SF-96) posted 7 pts each. Quarters: 14-15, 13-10, 19-15, 14-14. Sunday is the last day of the competition in Miskolc. Italy and Spain will fight for the Gold.

Talented Judit Barnai (189-F/C-94) had a great game in the last round for ELTE-BEAC and that's her to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 9. The 22-year old power forward had a double-double of 20 points and fifteen rebounds, while her team crushed, the league's bottom-ranked team MTK (#10, 0-8) with 16-point margin 70-54. An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Miskolc. First ranked PEAC-Pecs faced 4th placed Miskolc. Guests from Pecs (7-1) defeated host Miskolc (5-3) 59-54. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Miskolc. Miskolc trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 23-16 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 54-59 at the end of the game.
