Hungary beat Switzerland to take the Second Stage ticket at the U16 European Championship in Division B. The Hungarian team improved to 4-1 record and finished in the top two places from Group D. Switzerland meanwhile ended up with 3-2 record and sealed the third position that will give them a chance to play for the 9th-16 th place. It was the top game of the group as only the winner could join the Elite Eight. Hungary produced a 21-16 lead in the opening period and added 18-12 in the second frame. Anthony Polite (190-SF-97) and Meszaros exchanged the early baskets in the third period as Hungary posted 18-11 in it. Moreover they won the last stanza 8-7 and grabbed the fourth win in the group. Levente Nagy (194-SG-96) top-scored for the winners with 17 points, while Gyorgy Goloman (204-F/C-96) collected 12 points and 10 rebounds. Mattia Cafisi (181-PG-97) finished the game with 14 points and Luka Mandic (195-F-96) added 11. Anthony Polite had 10 points and 17 rebounds, whilst Christian Tukama (190-PF-97) posted 5.

Szolnok survived overtime to hand Atomeromu the decisive third loss in the semifinal series. Szolnok will now take on Albacomp in the championship series. Szolnok outrebounded Atomeromu 51-35 including 18 on the offensive glass. Atomeromu was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch.
