Sweden catches up the last train to Division A at the U16 European Championship. The Scandinavian team overcame Hungary 79:55 in the game for the third place that gave the last spot in the top division the next year.
Sweden did not waste time and started with 29-16 in the first period. They produced 19-16 in the second frame for 48:32 at the halftime as Lightner closed the half. Moreover Sweden needed 13-11 in the third period for a nigger lead. They finished the game with 18-12 in the last stanza for the final victory.
Ludvig Hakanson (190-PG-96) paced all the winners with 23 points and 11 assists, while Erik Johansson (194-F-96) notched 22. Andreas Von Uthmann (196-F-96) followed them with 9 points. Patrik Hodi (197-PF-96) ended up with 12 points in defeat and Gyorgy Goloman (204-F/C-96) scored 11. Sweden together with Montenegro and Belgium advanced to Division A.

Yesterday, just couple of minutes before the Game 4 of the semifinals the management of EGIS Kormend published, that team captain Csaba Ferencz(194-SF-85) signed with the team also for the coming season. The 194 cm tall, 31 years old wingman played all his carreer in his hometown, he started his pro carreer already in 2002. Kormend - Szolnok 89-53 Kormend coasted past Szolnok to force the decisive fifth game in the series. The game without a history. Kormend led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Szolnok to just 4 points in second quarter. Alba - Atomeromu 96-68 Alba cruised past Atomeromu to take 2-1 lead in the series. The game was mostly controlled by Alba. Atomeromu was better in second period 23-22.
