Timisoara opened Group F campaign successfully as they beat Kormend. The Romanian side overcame the team from Hungary in front of 2000 fans.
Timisoara won the first period 21-19 and looked better in the second frame. The hosts increased the lead to 9 points at the halftime after 19-12 in the period. Moreover the Romanian team won the third quarter 20-15 and enjoyed 14-point deficit with 10 minutes to go. Kormend answered with 19-15 in the last stanza and reduced the game to 10 final points.
Ivan Jelenic (192-SG-85, agency: BeoExcell) stepped up with 18 points for the home side and Delvon Johnson (206-F/C-89, agency: Priority Sports, college: Arkansas) added 14. Dominique Archie (200-F-87, college: S.Carolina) and Zlatko Jovanovic (181-PG-84, agency: Beo Basket) posted 13 points each in a win. Matt Shaw (203-F-88, college: UNLV) answered with 18 points and 11 boards in defeat, while Zvonko Buljan (206-F-87, college: TCU) had 15. Csaba Ferencz (195-F-85, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) notched 14 and Gergely Fodor (193-G-77, agency: TSS Management) delivered 9.

TLI-Alba Fehervar (A Division) inked 24-year old Canadian guard Justin Edwards (190-91kg-92, college: Kansas State). He just graduated from Kansas State (NCAA). Edwards has played there for the last three years. In 33 games he recorded 12.7ppg, 5.9rpg, 2.8apg and 1.8spg last season. Andrea Costa Imola (Serie A2) strengthened their roster with addition of 27-year old American point guard Travis Cohn (188-79kg-89, college: Jacksonville). He played most recently at FORTRESS Jaszbereny in Hungarian A Division. Cohn managed to play in three leagues in two countries last year (!!!).
