Szolnok wins all-Hungarian clash in EuroChallenge Round 2. The team overcame the rivals Kormend 96:92 as Marton Bader (212-C-80, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) erupted with 33 points and 14 rebounds.
Szolnok opened the game with 28-19 and added 23-18 before the halftime. The guests enjoyed 51:29 lead at the end of the second period, but Ferencz closed the half at 51:37. Szolnok also won the third period 26-23 and increased to 77:60, but they could hardly keep the victory. Vincent Simpson (185-G-88, agency: R.H.Consultancy, college: Hampton) and Matt Shaw (203-F-88, college: UNLV) reduced to 84:82 with 3 minutes to go. Ferenczs shot later kept the difference at three, while Andras Rujak scored for the final result.
Akos Horvath (193-SG-81) scored 21 points for the winners and Ernests Kalve (200-F-87) brought 15. Balazs Simon (187-PG-80, agency: Court Side) and Brandon Gay (203-F-82, agency: Edge Sports, college: San Diego) had 8 points each. Matt Shaw ended up with 25 points, whilst Zvonko Buljan (206-F-87, college: TCU) posted 20. Andras Rujak (187-G-88, agency: TSS Management) nailed 19 and Vincent Simpson added 17.

Szolnok - Atomeromu 87-76 Szolnok held off Atomeromu and raced to a 2-1 lead in the semifinal series. The game was mostly controlled by Szolnok. Atomeromu managed to win third quarter 29-16.
