Coincidentally all hosts won their games. The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with defeat of the leader, extra overtimes, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Albacomp (12-3) in Pecs on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by sixth ranked PVSK Pannon (7-7) 92-84. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Albacomp. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 12-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 92-84. PVSK Pannon made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. American guard Brad Loesing (182-89, college: Wofford) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points and 5 assists (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). The other American import guard Alex Legion (195-88, college: FIU, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Naturalized American forward Damian Hollis (203-88, college: G.Washington, agency: Two Points) replied with 24 points for Albacomp. Albacomp's coach Branislav Dzunic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. PVSK Pannon maintains sixth position with 7-7 record. Albacomp at the other side still keeps top place with three games lost. PVSK Pannon are looking forward to face higher ranked Falco-Szova (#5) in Szombathely in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Albacomp will play at home against Szedeak (#11) in Szeged and is hoping to win this game.

In the last game of round 14 Atomeromu was beaten by ZTE KK on the road 73-70. Szedeak won against Falco-Szova on its own court 97-88. FS Debrecen unfortunately lost to Kaposvari in a road game 71-87. Soproni managed to beat Kormend at home 89-86.
The most impressive performance of 14th round was 36 points (!!!), 9 rebounds, 8 assists and 6 steals by Anthony Nelson of Marso NYKK.


ZTE KK - Atomeromu 73-70

There was a surprise result when ninth ranked ZTE KK (6-8) edged higher ranked Atomeromu (10-5) in Zalaegerszeg 73-70 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 22-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Bosnian center Teo Simovic (205-84) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points and 9 rebounds. American guard Dorenzo Hudson (195-88, college: Virginia Tech) contributed with 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four ZTE KK players scored in double figures. The former international power forward Adam Toth (208-89, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and American point guard Lorenzo Williams (189-84, college: Rice, agency: Court Side) added 15 points and 5 assists in the effort for Atomeromu. ZTE KK moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Jaszberenyi. Loser Atomeromu keeps the third position with five games lost. ZTE KK will face Kormend (#10) on the road in the next round.

There was an upset when higher ranked Falco-Szova (8-6) lost to eleventh ranked Szedeak (5-9) in Szeged 88-97 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 21-10 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Szedeak made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American guard Anthony Jones (191-84, college: Indiana Tech) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. The former international power forward Milan Csorvasi (209-88, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) contributed with 24 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Serbian forward Tomislav Ivosev (204-90) replied with 25 points and 8 rebounds and the former international guard Laszlo Kalman (186-72, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) added 13 points and 10 assists in the effort for Falco-Szova. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Szedeak moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Kormend and Marso NYKK. Loser Falco-Szova dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. Szedeak will face league's leader Albacomp in Szekesfehervar in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Kaposvari - FS Debrecen 87-71

Very predictable result when second ranked Kaposvari (11-3) won against at home 12th ranked FS Debrecen (1-13) 87-71 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Kaposvari. FS Debrecen was better in fourth quarter 25-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kaposvari dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to FS Debrecen's 22. They outrebounded FS Debrecen 53-25 including a 21-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Serbian power forward Marko Spica (205-86, college: Cent.Michigan) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds. American point guard Christopher Dunn (189-83, college: W.Virginia St., agency: Court Side) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Four Kaposvari players scored in double figures. American forward Kevin Smith (195-89, college: Richmond) replied with 22 points and 4 steals and his fellow American import guard Brian Stafford (193-90, college: Denver) added 18 points in the effort for FS Debrecen. FS Debrecen's coach Jason Okrzesik tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. Kaposvari maintains second position with 11-3 record behind leader Albacomp. Soproni - Kormend 89-86

Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked Kormend (5-9) was edged on the road by fifth ranked Soproni (9-5) 89-86 on Saturday. However just three-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Kormend was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 20-16 charge of Soproni, which allowed them to win the game. Kormend was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Montenegrin power forward Filip Barovic (208-90) orchestrated the victory by scoring 29 points and 9 rebounds. American guard Dontay Thomas (186-84, college: La Salle) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 assists for the winners. Croatian forward Zvonko Buljan (206-87, college: TCU) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and American forward Matt Shaw (203-88, college: UNLV) added 22 points in the effort for Kormend. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Soproni moved-up to fourth place. Loser Kormend dropped to the ninth position with nine games lost. Soproni will have a break next round. Kormend will play at home against ZTE KK (#7) in Zalaegerszeg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

MAFC Budapest (A Division) tabbed 31-year old Serbian shooting guard Uros Duvnjak (190-86, agency: BeoBasket). He played recently at Apollon Patras in Greek A1 league. Duvnjak managed to play in three leagues in two countries this year (!!!). In 8 A1 games he averaged 4.1ppg and 1.3apg.
