The most exciting game of round 17 in the A Division took place in Szekszard. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 7th ranked Atomeromu (6-11) to fourth ranked PEAC-PECS (10-7) 70-68 on Saturday evening. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 19-10 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. 30 personal fouls committed by Atomeromu helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American center Amy Jaeschke (196-89, college: Northwestern) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. Her fellow American import guard Andrea Barbour (177-89, college: VCU) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. International Reka Balint (182-91) produced 22 points and 6 rebounds for the hosts. Atomeromu's coach Gergely Magyar tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. PEAC-PECS moved-up to third place, which they share with DKSK. Atomeromu lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 11 games lost. PEAC-PECS is looking forward to face DKSK (#3) in Miskolc in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Atomeromu will play on the road against Cegledi EKK (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

MKB Euroleasing will play against league's second-placed UNI Gyor on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. ZTE NKK will play against BSE-FCSM in Budapest and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game with biggest result difference took place in Budapest. Local BSE-FCSM (4-13) was outscored by second ranked UNI Gyor (14-3) 82-45 on Saturday night. Nora Nagy-Bujdoso stepped up and scored 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Lilla Adamecz responded with 9 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for UNI Gyor. Defending champion maintains second place with 14-3 record having just three points less than leader UNIQA Eurol. Loser BSE-FCSM keeps the ninth position with 13 games lost. UNI Gyor will meet at home league's leader MKB Euroleasing in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. BSE-FCSM will play against ZTE NKK (#6) in Zalaegerszeg and hope to secure a win.

In the last two games of round 17 Bacsbasket was defeated by DKSK in Miskolc 64-53. Cegledi EKK beat MBK Eurl.Vasas at home 68-59.

ZTE NKK - UNIQA Eurol. 60-85

Undefeated leader MKB Euroleasing delivered the seventeenth consecutive victory. This time they crushed 6th ranked ZTE NKK (9-8) 85-60 in Zalaegerszeg. The game without a history. MKB Euroleasing led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 20-of-26 charity shots (76.9 percent) during the game. MKB Euroleasing outrebounded ZTE NKK 39-19 including a 28-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. ZTE NKK was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Shenise Johnson (180-90, college: Miami, FL) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points and 8 rebounds. The former international guard Zsofia Fegyverneky (182-84, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) contributed with 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. point guard Virag Szalay (172-84, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) answered with 15 points and forward Judit Szelesy (184-78, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) added 10 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for ZTE NKK. Everything could happen in Miskolc at the game between two tied teams. Both fourth ranked DKSK and 5th ranked Bacsbasket had identical 9-7 record. This time DKSK used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Baja 64-53 on Sunday night. The game was mostly controlled by DKSK. Bacsbasket managed to win fourth quarter 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Bacsbasket to just 4 points in second quarter and to 12 points in first half. They outrebounded Bacsbasket 44-28 including a 34-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. American guard Brittainey Raven (183-88, college: Texas) stepped up and scored 18 points for the winners and her fellow American import forward Lenita Sanford (190-89, college: UNLV) chipped in 11 points and 13 rebounds. Latvian center Aija Brumermane (191-86, agency: Regeneracom Sports) responded with 15 points and guard Nora Rujak (174-90, agency: TSS Management) scored 10 points.
