Here is the weekly review of the top performing Hungarian players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international center Dora Horti (193-87, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group, currently plays in Poland), who plays in the Polish PLKK. She could not help Wisla Can-Pak (11-3) in their last game. Despite Horti's good performance Wisla Can-Pak was badly defeated 65-49 at home by the leading Artego Bydgoszcz. She was the second best scorer with 10 points. Horti also added 9 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 25 minutes on the court. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Horti's first season with the team. She has relatively good stats this year: 10.1ppg, 5.9rpg, 1.3spg, 2FGP: 59.8%(49-82) and FT: 68.3% in the 14 games she played so far. Horti is currently a member of the Hungarian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international guard Katalin Honti (177-87, currently plays in Spain). She was not able to help Rivas Ecopolis (11-1) in their game against Perfumerias Avenida (9-2) in the Spanish LFB. Honti recorded 5 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. The league leader Rivas Ecopolis was defeated 74-63 on their home court in Rivas by the second-ranked Perfumerias Avenida. They ended the series of eleven consecutive victories. This season Honti averages: 9.4ppg, 2.5rpg, 2.8apg, 2FGP: 55.0%, 3FGP: 42.4% and FT: 94.4%(17-18). She is in the roster of the Hungarian senior national team.

The Hungarian player who performed third best last week abroad was an experienced former international center Judit Kajdacsi (192-79, also represented by Laszlo Vinko Group, currently plays in Romania). Kajdacsi contributed to an easy victory against one of league's weakest teams Oradea (0-16) crushing them 103-60 in the Romanian Liga Nationala on Wednesday night. She had a double-double by scoring 10 points and getting 17 rebounds. Kajdacsi also added and 3 steals in 24 minutes. BC Sepsi SIC Sfantu Gheorghe (12-5) is placed fifth in the Liga Nationala. This year Kajdacsi's overall stats are: 9.6ppg, 8.7rpg, 1.6spg, 2FGP: 53.6%, 3FGP: 19.2% and FT: 59.3% in the 14 games. She played for the Hungarian national team three years ago.

Forward Hajnalka Szlimak (182-82, currently plays in Romania) managed to help CSM Satu Mare in a victory against the 11th-ranked Targu Mures (5-12) crushing them 90-42 in the Romanian Liga Nationala last Wednesday. She scored 5 points and added 5 passes in 21 minutes. CSM Satu Mare (14-3) is placed third in the Liga Nationala. This year Szlimak's total stats are: 5.0ppg, 2.0rpg, 1.1apg and 1.3spg in the 16 games. She used to play for the Hungarian national team back in 2010.

International power forward Anna Vadja (191-84, agency: Josep and Nicolas, currently plays in Turkey) led Samsun to a victory against the league outsider Edremit (1-13) 86-79 in the Turkish TKBL on Saturday night. Vadja scored 12 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and dished 3 assists. Samsun Basketbol (3-7) is placed fifth in the TKBL. This season Vadja has relatively solid stats: 10.2ppg, 7.4rpg and 1.8apg. She plays currently for the Hungarian national team.

Forward Ildiko Szakacs (187-81, currently plays in Switzerland) led Ovronnaz-Martigny Basket to a victory over the eighth-ranked Basel (4-11) crushing them 76-49 in the Swiss LNA in Sunday night's game. Szakacs was MVP of the game. She scored 23 points, had 8 rebounds and dished 4 assists in 38 minutes. Ovronnaz-Martigny Basket (10-5) is placed third in the LNA. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Szakacs has reliable stats this year: 12.4ppg, 4.9rpg, 3.1apg and 1.5spg in the 15 games. She is a former international player as she played for the Hungarian senior team eight years ago.

Former University international center Viktoria Vincze (189-87, currently plays in Germany) contributed to an easy victory against the ninth-ranked Rotenburg/Scheessel (5-8) 78-62 in the German DBBL last Saturday. Vincze recorded only 4 points. BC Wildcats Wolfenbuettel (9-4) is placed fourth in the DBBL. Vincze has averaged so far 4.0ppg and 3.2rpg. She used to play for the Hungarian university national team four years ago.

Swingman Judit Fritz (183-87, college: St.Francis, NY, currently plays in France) was not able to secure a victory for Dunkerque (5-10) in their game against Laveyron (9-5) in the French LF2 (12th division). Fritz cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones. She scored only 2 points, made 4 passes and 3 steals in 19 minutes. Dunkerque was edged 61-60 on their home court in Dunkerque by the higher-ranked (#5) Laveyron. It was Dunkerque's first loss after three consecutive victories. Fritz has averaged so far 7.8ppg, 2.4rpg, 1.8apg and 1.8spg in the 12 games. She used to play for the Hungarian university national team back in 2009.

   #1. Katalin Kurtozi (193-C-81, agency: LBM Management, college: St.John's, currently plays in Belgium) contributed to an easy victory against the tenth-ranked Jeugd Gentson (4-11) crushing them 66-38 in the Belgian Division I in Saturday night's game. Kurtozi scored 7 points, had 14 rebounds and made 4 blocks. Castors Braine (8-7) is placed sixth in the Division I. Kurtozi's total stats this season are: 8.2ppg, 6.9rpg and 1.1spg.

   #2. Experienced Diana Adela Pop (168-G-71, currently plays in Germany), who plays in the German 2.Bundesliga (12th division) could not help Friendsfactory Germering (4-8) to beat TG 1889 Sandhausen (5-7). Pop cannot count Sunday's game as one of the best ones. She recorded only 1 points and added 3 assists. It was his first game for Friendsfactory Germering this season. The ninth-placed Friendsfactory Germering was defeated 67-53 on the road by the higher-ranked TG 1889 Sandhausen (#8) in the South group. It was Friendsfactory Germering's fourth consecutive loss in a row. Pop has a dual citizenship: Romanian and Hungarian.

   #3. Kata Takacs (184-F-91, currently plays in Germany) was not able to help Rotenburg/Scheessel (5-8) in their game against Wildcats Wolfenbuettel (9-4) in the German DBBL. She recorded only 4 points in 11 minutes. Rotenburg/Scheessel was badly defeated 78-62 in Wolfenbuettel by the higher-ranked (#4) Wildcats. It was Rotenburg/Scheessel's third consecutive loss in a row. Takacs has averaged so far 4.0ppg and 2.4rpg in the 11 games she played so far. She is another player who holds two passports: Hungarian and Austrian.

   #4. Andrea Hajdune Csaszar (200-C-82, agency: Josep and Nicolas, college: Kent St., currently plays in Switzerland) managed to help Helios VS Basket to win against the fifth-ranked Fribourg (10-5) 82-80 in the Swiss LNA on Saturday night. Hajdune Csaszar scored 5 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Helios VS Basket (15-0) is placed first in the LNA. So far her team won all fifteen games in the Regular Season. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Hajdune Csaszar has averaged so far 8.6ppg, 8.2rpg, 2.6apg, 1.4bpg and 1.3spg.

Shooting guard Dorka Juhasz (189-SG-99) had a very impressive game in the last round for top-ranked PEAC-Pecs, receiving a Player of the Week award for round 5. The 17-year old player had a double-double of 20 points and 14 rebounds, while her team crushed Vasas Akademia (#8, 2-3) with 18-point margin 85-67. Euroleague-EuroCup Start with six Hungarian teams! - 3 days ago

The Hungarian NB1 league will represent 6 teams in Euroleague Women and EuroCup Women in 2016/17 season. One of the franchise team of Euroleague, Uniqua Sopron will start the season in Poland against Polkowice. UNI Gyor will come back to the series after 2 years and will have strong start against the 2014 Euroleague Winner USK Praha.
