Round 17 most important game was a victory of Jaszberenyi over 5th ranked PVSK Pannon 84-75 on Saturday night. PVSK Pannon trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 23-21 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 75-84 at the end of the game. Serbian center Rastko Dramicanin (207-86, agency: BeoExcell) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists. Naturalized Serbian guard Dejan Mladenovic (186-85, agency: TSS Management) contributed with 22 points for the winners. The former international forward Norbert Toth (203-86, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) answered with 19 points and 9 rebounds for PVSK Pannon. Jaszberenyi have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place. PVSK Pannon at the other side dropped to the seventh position with nine games lost. They share it with Falco-Szova. Jaszberenyi are looking forward to face Falco-Szova (#8) in Szombathely in the next round. PVSK Pannon will play on the road against Soproni and is hoping to win this game.

American point guard Christopher Dunn (189-83, college: W.Virginia St., agency: Court Side) responded with 19 points and 5 rebounds. Szedeak maintains eleventh place with 6-11 record. Kaposvari at the other side keeps the second position with five games lost. They share it with Atomeromu. Szedeak will play against higher ranked ZTE KK (#6) in Zalaegerszeg in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kaposvari will play at home against the league's leader Albacomp (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
An interesting game for Atomeromu (12-5) which hosted in Paks 4th placed Soproni (10-7). Third ranked Atomeromu managed to get a 9-point victory 75-66. Steven Idlet nailed a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds for the winning side. Dontay Thomas came up with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for Soproni in the defeat. Atomeromu moved-up to second place, which they share with Kaposvari. Loser Soproni keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. Atomeromu will meet at home FS Debrecen (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Soproni will play against PVSK Pannon (#7) in Pecs and hope to secure a win.

Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Soproni (10-7) and Marso NYKK (7-10), which took place in Nyiregyhazi. 4th placed Soproni lost to ninth ranked Marso NYKK in a road game 63-69 on Thursday. Bennet Davis orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points and 9 rebounds. Marso NYKK maintains ninth place with 7-10 record. Loser Soproni keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. Marso NYKK will face Kormend (#10) on the road in the next round. Soproni will play against PVSK Pannon (#7) in Pecs.

In the last game of round 17 ZTE KK beat FS Debrecen on the road 79-74.
The most impressive performance of 17th round was 26 points and 18 rebounds by Zeljko Zagorac of Falco-Szova.


Falco-Szova - Kormend 91-92

A very interesting game took place in Szombathely. It ended with only one-point home defeat of 7th ranked Falco-Szova (8-9) to tenth ranked Kormend (6-10) 92-91 on Saturday evening. Falco-Szova was ahead by 14 points after three quarters before a 30-15 charge of Kormend, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Kyle Austin (203-88, college: Cal-Riverside) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Matt Shaw (203-88, college: UNLV) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. Five Kormend players scored in double figures. Slovenian forward Zeljko Zagorac (204-81) produced a double-double by scoring 26 points and 18 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) and the former international guard Laszlo Kalman (186-72, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) added 19 points and 4 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) respectively for the hosts. Kormend maintains tenth place with 6-10 record. Falco-Szova lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with nine games lost. No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked ZTE KK (8-8) beat on the road 12th ranked FS Debrecen (1-16) 79-74 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 10 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 5 points. Bosnian center Teo Simovic (205-84) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. American guard Dorenzo Hudson (195-88, college: Virginia Tech) contributed with 9 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American guard Brian Stafford (193-90, college: Denver) answered with 23 points and the other American import forward Kevin Smith (195-89, college: Richmond) added 17 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for FS Debrecen. Four FS Debrecen players scored in double figures. ZTE KK have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place. FS Debrecen lost fourth consecutive game. An interesting game for Atomeromu (12-5) which hosted in Paks 4th placed Soproni (10-7). Third ranked Atomeromu managed to get a 9-point victory 75-66. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Soproni won third quarter 21-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Atomeromu dominated on the defensive end, holding Soproni to just 7 points in second quarter. They outrebounded Soproni 40-28 including a 16-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. There will be only one (last) round of the Regular Season in A Division. The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Alba (20-5) in Szekesfehervar on Thursday night. Hosts were defeated by seventh ranked PVSK Pannon (14-11) 85-67. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Alba. The game was mostly controlled by PVSK Pannon.
