DKSK Miskolc clinched the third victory in the CEWL season. They knocked down Trutnov for 3-1 record on top of Group A. Brittainey Raven (183-G-88, college: Texas) stepped up with 38 points to pace the Hungarian team. Trutnov fell at 2-2 record after the loss.
DKSK Miskolc stayed aggressive offensively right from the start. They exploded with 31 points in the opening quarter to take a 13-point lead. Trutnov turned things around though in the second quarter. The Czech team erased the deficit and posted a 54:52 halftime advantage. DKSK Miskolc retained the advantage in the third quarter. The Hungarian team eked out a narrow 78:77 advantage at the final intermission. The hosts stepped on the gas in the fourth frame and ran away with a tough win at the end. Maja Skoric (184-F-89) finished with 14 points, while Lenita Sanford (190-F-89, college: UNLV) added 26 points and 22 rebounds for the hosts. Ambrosia Anderson (186-F-84, college: BYU) answered with 30 points and 11 rebounds for Trutnov. Petra Zaplatova (175-G/F-91) chipped in 12 points in the loss.

We bring you last week's top performances from Hungarians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level. This week's number one is an international guard Allie Quigley (178-86). She could not help Fenerbahce (14-3) in their last game. Despite Quigley's very good performance the league leader Fenerbahce was edged 62-60 in a derby game by the lower-ranked (#5) Besiktas.    [read more]

Atomeromu KSC Szekszard (A Division) landed 30-year old American guard Cherise Daniel (180-87, college: Ohio State). She started the season at Sirius Targu Mures in Romanian Liga Nationala. In 18 games she averaged impressive 18.9ppg, 5.5rpg, 3.3apg and 1.3spg this season. She can count that year as a very successful as was selected to Romanian League All-Star Game. The most of last season Daniel spent at Athinaikos in Greek A1 where in 18 games she had 10.9ppg, 4.9rpg, 1.1apg and 1.1spg....   [read more]

Hungarian A Division round 17 best performance: Dora Medgyessy - 5 days ago
International Guard Dora Medgyessy (174-G-86) put on an amazing game in the last round for Cegledi EKK, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 17. The 30-year old player got a double-double of 17 points and 20 assists, while her team crushed MTK (#10, 1-13) with 24-point margin 93-69.
