The games at this stage are more interesting as they can be crucial for the final standings in Regular Season. Despite we already know who is stronger and who is weaker, there may be still last minute susprises and upsets.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Albacomp (14-4) on the court of third ranked Kaposvari on Thursday night. Visitors were defeated by Kaposvari 96-79. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Albacomp. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The game without a history. Kaposvari led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Kaposvari looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for the former international Roland Hendlein (203-86, agency: TSS Management) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 15 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). American point guard Christopher Dunn (189-83, college: W.Virginia St., agency: Court Side) contributed with 16 points, 16 assists and 4 steals for the winners. American guard Brandon Wood (187-89, college: Michigan St., agency: N.E.T.) replied with 22 points for Albacomp. Albacomp's coach Branislav Dzunic rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Kaposvari (13-5) moved-up to second place, which they share with Atomeromu. Albacomp at the other side still keeps top position with four games lost. Kaposvari is looking forward to face Falco-Szova (#8) in Szombathely in the next round where they are favorite. Albacomp will play on the road against Jaszberenyi (#5) and is hoping to win this game.

Szedeak will play against higher ranked Soproni (#4) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. ZTE KK will play against PVSK Pannon in Pecs and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Tamas Kaman notched a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort. Atomeromu's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 23 points and 9 rebounds by Kevin Smith did not help to save the game for FS Debrecen. Atomeromu have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Kaposvari. FS Debrecen lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 17 games lost. Atomeromu will meet Marso NYKK (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. FS Debrecen will play against Kormend.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 18: Marso NYKK was smashed by Kormend on the road 83-64. Soproni destroyed PVSK Pannon on its own court 80-61. Falco-Szova unfortunately lost to Jaszberenyi in a road game 71-83.


ZTE KK - Szedeak 79-93

Worth to mention about the upset in a game between ZTE KK (8-9) and Szedeak (7-11), which took place in Zalaegerszeg. Higher ranked ZTE KK lost at home to eleventh ranked Szedeak 79-93. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of ZTE KK. The game was mostly controlled by Szedeak. ZTE KK was better in third quarter 23-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding ZTE KK to just 5 points in second quarter. It was a great shooting night for Szedeak especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. ZTE KK was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Anthony Jones (191-84, college: Indiana Tech) scored 25 points to lead the charge for the winners and Serbian power forward Nebojsa Dukic (206-85) chipped in 22 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Szedeak players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Dorenzo Hudson (195-88, college: Virginia Tech) with 26 points and Bosnian center Teo Simovic (205-84) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. The management of Atomeromu SE Paks published yesterday, that they agreed with hungarian NT guard, Andras Rujak (189-G-88, agency: HMS) for the coming season. The 189 cm tall guard spent the last 4 seasons with Sopron KC after playing 3 seasons in a row for EGIS Kormend and spending some seasons with PVSK and Enternet-NTE Hegyvidek in the Hugarian Top Division.
