The Second Stage in A Division just started.

The game between third ranked UNI Gyor (4-3) and seventh ranked Piestanske C. (2-1) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. UNI Gyor was defeated by Piestanske C. in a tough game in Piestany 72-77. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 17-12. But UNI Gyor won second period 19-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Piestanske C. moved-up to fifth place in Division. Defending champion UNI Gyor dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. Piestanske C. are looking forward to face league's second-placed MKB Euroleasing in Sopron in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. UNI Gyor will play at home against Samorin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game between Top Four teams took place in Szekszard. Third ranked host Atomeromu (13-8) defeated 4th placed Cegledi EKK (8-13) 82-70. Bosnian center Dragana Svitlica (190-88) nailed 25 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winning side and Reka Balint accounted for 14 points and 6 rebounds. Polish power forward Natalia Mrozinska (191-84) came up with 18 points and 8 rebounds for Cegledi EKK in the defeat. Cegledi EKK's coach Gabor Ujhelyi rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Atomeromu maintains third place in Division with 13-8 record having six points less than leader Bacsbasket. Cegledi EKK at the other side keeps the fourth position with 13 games lost. Atomeromu will play against BSE-FCSM (#5) in Budapest in the next round. Cegledi EKK will play on the road against the league's leader Bacsbasket in Baja and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game between Top Four teams took place in Zalaegerszeg. Second ranked host ZTE NKK (15-6) smashed 4th placed BSE-FCSM (8-13) 87-65. Alex Gensler fired 30 points for the winners. Andrea Karolyi produced 27 points for lost side. BSE-FCSM's coach Stevan Cupic gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. ZTE NKK maintains second place in Division with 15-6 record having four points less than leader Bacsbasket. Loser BSE-FCSM dropped to the fifth position with 13 games lost. ZTE NKK will meet MBK Eurl.Vasas (#6) in the next round. BSE-FCSM will play against Atomeromu in Szekszard and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Miskolc supposed to be also worth to mention about. Leader Good Angels (7-0) played at the court of 6th ranked DKSK (1-2). Good Angels smashed DKSK 81-59. Worth to mention a great performance of Plenette Pierson who helped to win the game recording 11 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion keeps a position of Division leader. DKSK at the other side dropped to the eighth place with two games lost. Good Angels' next round opponent will be PEAC-PECS (#7) in Pecs which should be theoretically another easy game. DKSK will play on the road against MBK Ruzomberok.
The game in Samorin was also quite interesting. Leader MKB Euroleasing (7-0) played at the court of 5th ranked Samorin (2-5). MKB Euroleasing managed to secure a 6-point victory 68-62 on Saturday. Despite that victory MKB Euroleasing went down to second position (Division) due to points difference. Loser Samorin dropped to the sixth place with five games lost. MKB Euroleasing will face Piestanske C. (#5) in Piestany in the next round. Samorin will play on the road against UNI Gyor and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last two games of round 1
In Division MBK Ruzomb. destroyed PEAC-PECS on the opponent's court 63-41. Bacsbasket outscored MBK Eurl.Vasas in a home game 85-51.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 32 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists by Brittainey Raven of DKSK.

DKSK - Good Angels 59-81

The game in Miskolc supposed to be also worth to mention about. Leader Good Angels (7-0) played at the court of 6th ranked DKSK (1-2). Good Angels smashed DKSK 81-59. The game was mostly controlled by Good Angels. DKSK was better in fourth quarter 15-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Good Angels dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to DKSK's 30. Good Angels forced 21 DKSK turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by DKSK's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American Plenette Pierson (188-81, college: Texas Tech) who helped to win the game recording 11 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. International guard Allie Quigley (180-86, college: De Paul) contributed with 17 points for the winners. American guard Brittainey Raven (183-88, college: Texas) answered with 18 points and Serbian forward Maja Skoric (184-89) added 9 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for DKSK. Despite that victory MKB Euroleasing went down to second position (Division) due to points difference. Loser Samorin dropped to the sixth place with five games lost. MKB Euroleasing will face Piestanske C. (#5) in Piestany in the next round. Samorin will play on the road against UNI Gyor and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

PEAC-PECS - MBK Ruzomb. 41-63

Rather expected game in Pecs where 6th ranked PEAC-PECS (1-2) was crushed by fourth ranked MBK Ruzomberok (4-3) 63-41 on Saturday. The game without a history. MBK Ruzomberok led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to PEAC-PECS's 24. American center Nadia Parker (191-87, college: USC) stepped up and scored 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and Slovakian center Klaudia Lukacovicova (193-90) chipped in 6 points and 6 rebounds. Parker is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. MBK Ruzomberok's coach Stefan Svitek felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American center Amy Jaeschke (196-89, college: Northwestern) responded with 7 points and 12 rebounds and forward Lilla Horvath (182-90, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) scored 11 points. MBK Ruzomberok moved-up to third place in Division. Newly promoted PEAC-PECS dropped to the seventh position with two games lost. MBK Ruzomberok will face DKSK (#8) in Miskolc in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. PEAC-PECS will play on the road against the league's leader Good Angels in Kosice.
