Kevin Smith
23-year old forward Kevin Smith (195-F-89) had a great game in the last round for FS Debrecen and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 19.
He had the game-high 31 points adding nine rebounds and three assists for FS Debrecen in his team's victory, helping them to beat Kormend (#8, 8-11) 89-78. FS Debrecen maintains the 12th position in Hungarian league. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 17 games and recorded just two victories. In the team's last game Smith had a remarkable 61.9% from 2-point range. He turned to be FS Debrecen's top player in his first season with the team. University of Richmond graduate has very impressive stats this year. Smith is in league's top in points (4th best: 20.5ppg) and averages solid 2.6spg and 66.7% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Brian Stafford (193-G-90). He is American guard in his first season at FS Debrecen. In the last game Stafford recorded impressive 29 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course FS Debrecen cruised to a 89-78 relatively comfortable win over the higher-ranked Kormend (#8, 8-11). FS Debrecen's 12th position in has not changed. 17 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories FS Debrecen managed to get this year. Stafford is a newcomer at FS Debrecen and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Kyle Austin (203-F-88) of Kormend (#8). Austin scored 26 points and grabbed twelve rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Kormend, leading his team to a 94-89 win against ZTE KK (8-11). The chances of Kormend ranking at the top of Round 15, however are very questionable as they have already lost 11 games, recording just eight victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Austin could help Kormend to bring them higher in the standings. Austin has a very solid season. In 5 games in Hungary he scored 24.8ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Matt Shaw (203-F-88) of Kormend - 29 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Csaba Ferencz (195-F-85) of Kormend - 28 points and 6 rebounds
6. Miljan Rakic (195-G-86) of Jaszberenyi - 24 points, 3 rebounds and 9 assists
7. Marko Spica (205-C/F-86) of Kaposvari - 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists
8. Kyle Swanston (201-G/F-86) of Kaposvari - 27 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Filip Barovic (208-F/C-90) of Soproni - 20 points and 5 rebounds
10. Nebojsa Dukic (206-C/F-85) of Szedeak - 23 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Rosco Allen
Rosco Allen in the NBA-draft - May 29, 2016

23 year old Hungarian forward, Rosco Allen (206-F-93) declared for the NBA-draft in April without signing an agent and with that leaving his options open to return for his final year at Stanford. The common belief was that Rosco will return to college and will help the Cardinals in the very strong Pac-12 conference. When the 6'9" (206 cm) forward decided to hire an agent by signing with Pensack Sports he made it clear that he will stay in the NBA-draft. Rosco was the leading scorer for S...   [read more]
