A Division Round 3 (Second Stage): #1 MKB Euroleasing is defeated by MBK Ruzomberok - Feb 11, 2013

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated MKB Euroleasing (9-1) in Sopron on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by third ranked MBK Ruzomberok (6-3) 81-63. The game without a history. MBK Ruzomberok led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a great evening for American center Nadia Parker (191-87, college: USC) who led her team to a victory scoring 14 points and 9 rebounds. Slovakian center Klaudia Lukacovicova (193-90) helped adding 15 points. MBK Ruzomberok's coach Stefan Svitek used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was the former international guard Zsofia Fegyverneky (182-84, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) with 18 points. MBK Ruzomberok maintains third place in Division with 6-3 record having just three points less than leader Good Angels. MKB Euroleasing at the other side dropped to the second position with one game lost. MBK Ruzomberok are looking forward to face UNI Gyor (#4) at home in the next round. MKB Euroleasing will play against the league's leader Good Angels in Kosice and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game between Top Four teams took place in Gyor. 4th placed host UNI Gyor (5-4) was smashed by leader Good Angels (9-0) 83-57. Defending champion keeps a position of Division leader. Defending champion UNI Gyor keeps the fourth place with four games lost. Good Angels will play against league's second-placed MKB Euroleasing in Sopron in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. UNI Gyor will play on the road against MBK Ruzomberok and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game between Top Four teams took place in Szekszard. 3rd placed host Atomeromu (14-9) lost to first ranked Bacsbasket (21-4) 71-54. The best player for the winners was Dalma Ivanyi who scored 16 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Dragana Svitlica who recorded 12 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Bacsbasket maintains first place in Division with 21-4 record. Loser Atomeromu keeps the third position with nine games lost. Bacsbasket will meet at home league's second-placed ZTE NKK in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Atomeromu will play against MBK Eurl.Vasas in Budapest and hope to secure a win.
The game between Top Four teams took place in Zalaegerszeg. Second ranked host ZTE NKK (17-6) smashed 4th placed Cegledi EKK (9-15). It was a good game for Virag Szalay who led her team to a victory with 20 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals. ZTE NKK maintains second place in Division with 17-6 record having just -22 point less than leader Good Angels. Cegledi EKK at the other side keeps the fourth position with 15 games lost. ZTE NKK's next round opponent will be league's leader Bacsbasket in Baja and it will be for sure the game of the week. Cegledi EKK will play at home against BSE-FCSM in Budapest and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 3:
In Division PEAC-PECS won against Piestanske C. on the opponent's court 63-51. Samorin managed to outperform DKSK in a home game 74-61. MBK Eurl.Vasas recorded a loss to BSE-FCSM on the road 62-45.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 33 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds by Reka Balint of Atomeromu.

There was a minor upset in Piestany where 5th ranked Piestanske C. (2-3) was defeated by seventh ranked PEAC-PECS (2-3) 63-51. PEAC-PECS moved-up to sixth place in Division. PEAC-PECS's next round opponent will be higher ranked Samorin (#5) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Piestanske C. will play against DKSK in Miskolc and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Rather predictable result when sixth ranked Samorin (3-7) defeated at home 8th ranked DKSK (1-4) 74-61. Samorin moved-up to fifth place in Division. DKSK at the other side keeps the eighth position with four games lost. Samorin's next round opponent will be PEAC-PECS (#6) in Pecs.
