  follow us on Facebook Twitter

Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Hungarians who are currently playing abroad.

Adam Hanga
Adam Hanga
#1. This week's number one is an international shooting guard Adam Hanga (200-89, agency: TSS Management, currently plays in Spain), who plays in the Spanish ACB. He could not help Assignia Manresa (4-18) in their last game. Despite Hanga's very good performance Assignia Manresa lost 88-92 on the road to the much higher-ranked (#9) FIATC Joventut. He was the second best scorer with 15 points. Hanga also added 5 rebounds, 5 assists and made 2 blocks in 29 minutes on the court. It was Assignia Manresa's third consecutive loss in a row. Hanga has relatively good stats this year: 10.4ppg, 3.9rpg, 2.0apg, 1.2spg, 2FGP: 45.5%, 3FGP: 32.4% and FT: 69.1% in the 21 games he played so far. He is currently a member of the Hungarian senior national team.

Obie Trotter
Obie Trotter
#2. Second place goes to an international point guard Obie Trotter (188-84, agency: Court Side, college: Alabama A&M, currently plays in Russia), who plays in the Russian PBL. Trotter was not able to help BC Nizhny Novgorod (4-9) in their last game on Sunday. Despite his good performance BC Nizhny Novgorod was badly defeated 86-68 in St.Petersburg by the higher-ranked Spartak (#6). Trotter scored 10 points. This season Trotter has relatively solid stats: 10.6ppg, 2.6rpg, 3.2apg, 2FGP: 46.8%, 3FGP: 42.1% and FT: 87.5%. He is a naturalized American. Trotter is in the roster of the Hungarian senior national team. He used to play for Szolnoki Olajbanyasz in Hungarian league.

Peter Lorant
Peter Lorant
#3. The Hungarian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international power forward Peter Lorant (206-85, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group, currently plays in Italy). Lorant managed to help Acea Virtus Roma in a 2-point victoryagainst the tenth-ranked Juvecaserta (8-12) 66-64 in the Italian SerieA on Sunday night. He scored only 3 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 13 minutes. Acea Virtus Roma (13-7) is placed fifth in the SerieA. It's Lorant's first season with the team. This year Lorant averages: 3.8ppg, 3.0rpg, 3FGP: 35.3% and FT: 85.7% in the 20 games. He is also a member of the Hungarian senior national team.

Gyorgy Kinter
Gyorgy Kinter
#4. Center Gyorgy Kinter (213-88, currently plays in Czech Republic) was not able to secure a victory for BK Decin (15-11) in their game against CEZ Nymburk (25-1) in the Czech Republic NBL. Despite his good performance in Friday night's game Kinter recorded 10 points. Kinter's overall stats this season are: 7.0ppg and 3.0rpg. He used to play for the Hungarian university national team back in 2011.

The list of other players, who all have Hungarian passport but never been selected to any of Hungarian national teams:

#1. Attila Kovacs (203-F-85, currently plays in Denmark), who plays in the Danish Ligaen could not help Horsholm (10-11) in their last game. Despite Kovacs' very good performance Horsholm was edged 84-83 on the road by the league outsider (#10) Aalborg. He was the top scorer with 20 points in a mere 16 minutes. Kovacs' team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. Kovacs has reliable stats this year: 14.4ppg, 4.6rpg and 1.1apg in the 24 games he played so far.

#2. Rosco Allen (206-F, currently plays college basketball in the States) was not able to help the Stanford (6-9) in their game against the University of Oregon (11-4) in the NCAA. He scored only 4 points and had 4 steals. The Stanford was defeated 77-66 in Eugene, OR by the University of Oregon. There are only two games left until the end of the NCAA Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Allen has reliable stats this season: 14.4ppg, 4.6rpg and 1.1apg.
