Marko Spica
Serbian Marko Spica (205-C/F-86) had an amazing evening in the last round for top-ranked Kaposvari, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 1 (Second Stage).
The 26-year old player was the main contributor (25 points, nine rebounds and three assists) to his team's victory, helping them to crush, Second Stage botton-ranked team Atomeromu (#4, 0-1) with 18-point margin 102-84. It allowed Kaposvari to take over top position in the Hungarian A Division. But it's just the very beginning of the Second Stage and Kaposvari won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. Spica turned to be Kaposvari's top player in his first season with the team. Former Central Michigan University star has very solid stats this year. Spica is league's best scorer averaging so far 20.8ppg. Spica is in league's top in and averages impressive 63.7% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 23-year old American Anthony Nelson (185-G-89) of Marso NYKK. Nelson had a very good evening with 22 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists. It was enough for Marso NYKK to edge Soproni (11-12) 74-69. The Second Stage is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Nelson is a newcomer at Marso NYKK, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.7ppg (#5). His other stats are also decent: 5.7rpg and 5.2apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Anthony Jones (191-G-84, agency: R.H.Consultancy) of Szedeak (#0). Jones showcased his all-around game by recording 22 points, six rebounds and four assists in the last round. Despite Jones' great performance Szedeak lost 93-97 to #-5 ranked Falco-Szova. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The chances of Szedeak not to end season at such low position in Places 7-13, however are less than slim as they have already lost 15 games, recording just eight victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Jones could try to bring Szedeak's a little bit higher in the standings. Jones has a very solid season. In 13 games in Hungary he scored 15.1ppg. He also has 4.9rpg, 3.5apg and FGP: 58.2%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Mate Mohacsi (192-F-90) of Marso NYKK - 23 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Ronald Moore (183-PG-88) of Albacomp - 15 points, 3 rebounds and 11 assists
6. Christopher Dunn (189-PG-83) of Kaposvari - 14 points, 4 rebounds and 15 assists
7. Jonathan Levy (193-G-82) of Atomeromu - 23 points and 8 rebounds
8. Gergely Toth (208-PF-89) of Soproni - 20 points and 9 rebounds
9. Rastko Dramicanin (207-C-86) of Jaszberenyi - 9 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists
10. Marton Bader (212-C-80) of Szolnok - 19 points and 9 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
